  We've been using Banfield for 17yrs. Not only is the cost reasonable, but the care our pets have received has been exceptional. The staff is very friendly and greet us (and our pets) by name, after all, it's been 17yrs, but even my medical Doc, who I've been seeing for much longer, has to look at my chart first. Here's an example of the type of care our pets have received. We brought my 6yr old cat in because he started to pee out of the box, and was really onery. Within 5mins the Doc came rushing out and said that our cats urinary tract was blocked, and if he didn't have surgery ASAP he'd die in a day or two. He told us which hospital to take him to and said that he'd call right now to alert them of the situation so that they'd be ready when we came in. They were, and our cat went right into surgery. It's been 2 years since then and our cat's doing great. I believe that if the Vet hadn't been so quick with his diagnosis, so adamant about taking our cat to a specific pet hospital NOW and hadn't alerted the hosp what was going on, our pet would certainly have died. Our pets have received the same level of care and expertise every time we've brought one in. I wouldn't bring my pets anywhere else.

  This is the worst vet that I have ever dealt with company wide. I called a few months ago to bring my dog in who was pooping blood like a water hose. They told me that they could get him the following week after all 4 of my dogs used their services, so He wasn’t a new patient. I wound up calling Newburgh vet and they took him in immediately. My mother continued using Banfield even though I urged her not to. She called today to schedule shots for her 4 year old dog who has been going there since a pup and was told they would examine him, but the doctor would decide if she would give vaccinations because he’s paralyzed in one of his back legs from ivdd. What is the point in a vet if they don’t treat simple vaccines because a dog has a paralyzed leg. Imaging calling your doctor for a flu shot and being told, I’m not comfortable giving you a shot because your leg is paralyzed. They also seem to tell myself and anyone I know that their dog has an ear infection and needs wash and antibiotics every time they go in. They are not a place that actually cares about pets obviously.
