  Still trying to calm myself down from this experience hours later. Dropped my dog off today and they said it would be 3 hours. I come back 3 hours later to check on him and they say they need another hour. He was nervous when he went in, so while I was there I asked how he was doing and they said fine. They said they were delayed today but did not share why (which I am now wondering if it was because of my dog and they refused to tell me). 1.5 hours later they text me that he is ready (4.5 hours total). When I get there they tell me that he had thrown up bile and that his tongue turned blue from being so stressed that they kept having to give him breaks to calm him down. A dog’s a tongue turning blue can be a medical emergency so I have no idea why they did not call me or stop the service! It also must have been bad for a while for him to get to that point which they clearly ignored! Though he was nervous, he is 7 and has never gotten that worked up at a groomer before. I have no idea what they did to him to cause him so much anxiety but I feel like an awful dog parent and so guilty for leaving him in their care, and am thankful that he seems to be ok after what I can only imagine was a very traumatic experience for him.

  I brought my doodle here on a sunday to book a grooming appointment. I spoke to a great groomer that assured me my doodle wasnt matted and well maintained minus her tail. I booked a grooming appointment for later this week and thoroughly brushed her with a slicker prior to bringing her in. They charged me $15 3x for “matting”. My doodle is 65lbs and they did her entire groom in less than 1hr. This job usually takes a MINIMUM of 3hrs. She’s 5. I have taken her to plentyyy of grooming appointments . Very lazy groomers. They shaved her down because she was the last dog of the day and wanted to rush out of the salon vs taking their time and working on a higher maintenance dog. I would have preferred them denying the service vs wasting my money. I HIGHLY suggest taking your dog elsewhere. She had multiple visible knicks on her legs and im assuming her anal grands weren’t expressed completely or correctly because its been bothering her ever since. My total was $184 for a job that was less than an hour. The lady I paid with at the front desk even said the charges were excessive. Must I also add that I get her vaccinations at VETCO and they still kept asking my dog walker who dropped her off for proof of vaccines. They kept saying they didnt have my information on file, which literally doesn’t make any sense. They are highly unprofessional and rude. When I got there, they spoke highly of my dog and changed their tone when they met me directly. Maybe dont be so judgmental and realize the stigma of doodles doesnt apply to every single owner.

  I took my Yorkie to get her vaccines done at Petco, thinking everything would go smoothly. However, I later found out that even though the Vetco Clinic operates inside the same Petco, the grooming department has no access to their records. To make things worse, the vet or technician forgot to document the vaccines properly. Because of that, I had to reschedule my dog’s grooming appointment until I could take her to get vaccinated all over again. On top of that, they constantly switch groomers, so you never know who’s going to handle your pet. You can’t even request the groomer you prefer. The last person who groomed my Yorkie did a terrible job—her nails were left too long, her ears were uneven, and there were long tufts of hair still hanging around her legs. I’ve been going there for years, hoping the service would improve, but it’s only gotten worse. Sadly, it’s time to say goodbye to this place.

  This was my first time using Petco,and my 5 month old puppy, first groom. Ashley was wonderful with him. Visit exceeded my expectations.
