  Heart of Chelsea offers top-notch veterinary care. Dr. Diane Bassman has genuine compassion and brilliant medical insight - whether it’s our annual wellness exam, or a serous conditions that requires surgery, she always partners with the other human in the room (me) to get the best medicial outcome. Vet Tech David is dedicated, thorough, and happy to go the extra yard .The front desk is warm and accommodating. I’ve known Mason the longest - he always gets my jokes and is quick to help. I would highly recommend ❤️ of Chelsea -and do quite often! Sadie’s Mom (Lynn)

  VMD Van Voorhees, Leuthold, Tu, Nguyen, and Fontana are all exceptional veterinarians. Extremely knowledgeable and compassionate while also being very grounded and conscious of the fact that vet bills tend to be financially uncomfortable for most people. On the back end HOC is always extremely transparent about pricing and they’re also really good about letting you know what things are necessary vs. things that are more ‘in a perfect world’ / less urgent. i always feel 100% confident putting my dogs’ wellbeing in their hands and i think specifically this location is the best vet you’ll find in nyc.

  I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Tu. She truly went above and beyond in caring for my dog, Elsa, during an incredibly stressful time when Elsa was dealing with a spinal injury. Dr. Tu took the time to explain everything in detail—what was happening medically, what behaviors to expect, and exactly how to care for Elsa at home. She helped me understand medication timing in a way that allowed both of us to finally get some rest, which made a huge difference. Her guidance gave me clarity, structure, and so much-needed peace of mind. What really sets Dr. Tu apart is her rare combination of being highly scientific and organized in her reasoning, while also having an incredibly warm, compassionate, and reassuring bedside manner. I was completely overwhelmed with worry, and she stepped in with confidence, kindness, and expertise, making me feel supported and that my dog is safe. Because of her, I was able to calm down, trust the process, and even get back to work knowing Elsa was in good hands. She brought hope into a very scary situation. Heart of Chelsea is incredibly lucky to have Dr. Tu on their team. I truly believe she is a genius, and I am beyond grateful for her care.

  Dr. Andrea Tu is an amazing veterinarian. I accompanied a friend on a recent vet visit and I was so impressed by Dr. Tu. Her kindness, empathy and knowledge are incredible. She listened with such care to assure she understood all medical concerns. She then explained everything in great detail so that there was a clear path of treatment, and next steps. She not only has great care for the animals she is treating, but also for the people. I simply cannot say enough fabulous things about our experience. I would recommend Dr. Tu for anyone looking to find the best care possible for their pets in NYC.

  Dr. Andrea Tu at Heart of Chelsea was like a guardian angel when I brought my seriously ill senior dog to her. She heard my concerns, offered direct and actionable steps we could take immediately, and was profoundly compassionate about my quality of life as well as my dog's. We were in a difficult and confusing place and she offered both my dog and me relief and understanding. I can't recommend her highly enough.
