I am extremely disappointed with my visit to Bihari today. I have been bringing my dogs there since 2015, and we have always loved the service. My dogs loved everyone there, and we always had great experiences. We only stopped going because my dogs unfortunately passed away.
We recently got a new puppy and decided to bring him to Bihari for his first grooming visit because of the positive experiences we had there for so many years. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different from what I was used to.
I dropped my puppy off at 9 a.m. and called around 1 p.m. to see if he was ready because he had already been there for four hours. They explained to me that they groom the dogs on a rotation, which is completely fine. At that point, I was told that they had already cut his body, that he was doing perfectly, and that everyone there loved him. Nothing was mentioned to me about him being difficult to handle or there being any concerns about his behavior.
That is why I was so confused when I picked him up and was suddenly told that my puppy was going to become “aggressive because he likes to nip.” If he was genuinely too difficult for the groomer to safely handle, they should have told me that when I called at 1 p.m. If they had said, “He is having a hard time sitting still and we don’t think we can safely finish his grooming,” I would have had absolutely no problem picking him up and taking him somewhere else. I would much rather have been called than have them continue trying to groom a puppy they felt they could not handle.
He is three months old, and this was his very first grooming appointment. Of course a three-month-old puppy may not sit perfectly still and may try to nip while being handled or groomed. He is a baby who is teething and still learning. I would expect someone who works with puppies to understand normal puppy behavior rather than label a three-month-old puppy as potentially aggressive after his first grooming experience. It was also frustrating to hear something completely different at pickup from what I had been told on the phone just a few hours earlier.
I’m also extremely disappointed with the quality of the grooming itself. The front desk described the groomer as a “perfectionist,” but I have to disagree. When I got my puppy back, there was an area that appeared to have been completely missed, and the hair around his head was cut very unevenly. I paid over $100 for his grooming, and for that price, I absolutely did not expect such sloppy and uneven work.
Even more concerning, my three-month-old puppy was left outside in approximately 80-degree weather for an extended period of time without water. Regardless of the quality of the haircut, that alone is completely unacceptable to me. I trusted Bihari to take care of my puppy while he was in their care, especially considering how young and small he is.
After being a customer since 2015 and trusting Bihari with my previous dogs for years, I am incredibly disappointed that this was our first experience bringing our new puppy there. Between paying over $100 for sloppy grooming, having my puppy outside in 80-degree weather without water, and being told at pickup that my three-month-old puppy was going to become aggressive after being told just hours earlier that he was doing perfectly and everyone loved him, I have completely lost confidence in the care being provided.
Unfortunately, I will not be bringing my puppy back. This is especially upsetting because Bihari was a place I trusted with my dogs for many years, and I genuinely expected the same level of care for my new puppy.
My kitten, Maggie May spent this Fourth of July weekend and week has Bahari kennels. This is the first time that I have used the kennels and the experience was excellent . Confusion about our arrival time with the terrible weather Coming home from Cape Cod, didn’t cause any problem for Mae, who stayed late until we were able to get there to pick Maggie up. When I got Maggie home, it was clear that she had been spoiled rotten during her stay there. She was obviously cuddled and cared for while we were away And I would recommend Bahari to anyone who needs to board Their kitty. Thank you.

Everything was going well and I was happy with the service until checkout time. The pricing was confusing from start to finish. Every time I asked, both when I first booked and again at pickup.
I was given a different price. In the end, I agreed to the last amount they told me, but right before leaving they tried to charge me even more.
You can leave your dog here with confidence, but their pricing policy is terrible.

My dog Ryder has been going to Bihari for boarding and for grooming since he was 9 months old. He's now turning 5. He'll be 5 this month. We left him there when we go on vacations several times over the years. Most recently, our son got sick unexpedly. We had to board Ryder at the last minute. We were out of state approximately for 2 weeks and they were excellent at taking care of him. He's on a special diet and ran out of food.
They figured out a substitute for him which he loved and continues to eat. They were sympathetic, caring and understanding, which put our minds at ease, so we could focus on ensuring our son got the best care. I can't say enough about May and Diane. They're always so pleasant, caring and understanding, with excellent customer service skills. I also, appreciate Diane for her grooming skills. She knows exactly how to groom Ryder. I don't have to worry about how he will look when I pick him up after grooming.
I am so grateful. I feel like Bihari is Ryder's home away from home. Thank you all so much, can't say enough good things about you all.
