I would strongly urge any pet owner considering Bond Vet to think very carefully before trusting them with their animal’s care.
After my dog, Lucifer, received a vaccination at Bond Vet, a very large lump developed at the vaccination site. It did not disappear after a day or two. It remained there.
After approximately 10 days, I became concerned enough that I took him to the emergency department at another veterinary hospital, AMC, to have him evaluated. I was advised to continue monitoring it and wait. Ultimately, it took approximately 30 days for the lump to completely disappear.
Thirty days.
As a dog owner, watching a large lump remain on your animal’s body for that length of time after a vaccination is not something you simply forget.
This experience completely destroyed my confidence in Bond Vet. I will not bring my dogs back.
My personal impression of Bond Vet is that the experience felt far too commercial for something as serious and personal as veterinary medicine. Attractive branding, convenient locations and advertising mean very little to me if I cannot feel completely confident about the medical care my animals receive.
I have rescue dogs, and their health and safety are not something I am willing to compromise on. After this experience, when my animals need serious veterinary attention, I would much rather take them to an established veterinary hospital where I feel comfortable with the level of medical care and oversight.
I am sharing this because I wish someone had made me stop and think before I chose a veterinary provider based on convenience and presentation.
If you love your animal, do your research. Ask questions. Look beyond the advertising. Choose your veterinary care based on the quality of medicine and the confidence you have in the people treating your pet.
For me, Bond Vet will not be that place again.

I had an exceptional experience at Bond Vet – Upper East Side on 86th Street.
Dr. Sarah Barrena was incredibly compassionate, professional, and caring. She took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure my 14-year-old cat, Cununa, received the care she needed.
I also want to thank the Mexican veterinary assistant who spoke Spanish with me. His kindness, patience, and professionalism made a very stressful visit much easier. Being able to communicate in my native language meant so much to me.
The entire team treated us with kindness, respect, and genuine compassion. I felt heard, supported, and confident that my cat was in excellent hands.
Thank you, Dr. Sarah Barrena and the entire team, for your outstanding care. I will always remember your kindness and highly recommend this clinic.
