Our cat had dental surgery here, and while the veterinarian was kind, the administrative experience was absolutely TERRIBLE. The front desk staff member my husband and I spoke with when we asked to speak to their supervisor about our experience today repeatedly interrupted us and was very rude and curt with us.
When my husband picked up our cat after her dental surgery, he realized we had only been given half of the prescribed medication. He had to point out that we were missing five syringes. On the Uber home with our cat, he noticed that our discharge paperwork listed a whole other pain medication that had never been mentioned or provided, forcing him to take another one hour round trip back to the clinic to pick it up.
It doesn't stop there. Before surgery, I specifically asked when I should expect to pick up our cat and was told the clinic would call me with a pickup time. They never did. Instead, I eventually received a call asking, "we are wondering when you're going to come and pick her up?" Our cat had apparently been waiting there while I was sitting at home expecting the call they had promised to make. The response I got was "Oh, I thought we had called everyone".
Somehow, there's more. After I dropped my cat off I received a phone call discussing her X-ray results and surgery cost—only to receive another call a few minutes later explaining they had called the wrong number and had actually given me information about someone else's cat.
I understand that mistakes can happen, but the number of preventable errors during a single visit—from sharing someone else's pet's medical information to dispensing incomplete medications and failing to communicate her pick up time—made an already stressful day far more upsetting than it needed to be. I hope the clinic improves its procedures so other pet owners don't have to go through the same experience.

I called to ask about the cost of vaccines for my cats, and the customer service representative was very rude. It honestly made me not want to go there.

Right before Memorial Day weekend, my cat came down with a high fever, lethargy, and was not eating. My cat's primary vet at the time, would not see her until the following day, and Steinway Court Vet managed to see her as a new patient in such short amount of time, same day. Dr. Ordas was incredibly patient and kind. My cat's case was mysterious and required a bit of testing over a couple weeks to get to where we are now. While not every test was performed here, Dr. Ordas recommended and guided me every step of the way. At one point, the Vet called me after hours to check in and recommend treatment. Always checking in. The staff as well! Can't recommend this vet enough!
We're a couple weeks into her new treatment and I'm excited to say she's doing so well. We've returned to a sense of normalcy and I am a customer here for life.

This is an amazing vet office. We recently switched to this office for our small dog and it was world better than the vet in our area. The staff was attentive and kind. We received testing and an examination plus medication for a very fair price when compared to other vets in Queens. The doctor clearly communicated possible causes for the symptoms and multiple courses of action for the best results. This is an amazing clinic and I recommend it highly.

I really wanted to love this place but my wallet said absolutely not.
The staff and the girls at the front were great, and the vet was super knowledgeable. I'll give them that. But the pricing? Absolute insanity. I originally brought my cat in because I was worried about his urination, but somehow it turned into a whole conversation about his teeth and all this other stuff. I'll admit his teeth are horrible, I know they need to be taken care of, and I get that other problems can come from that. But damn they really sprung all this extra pricing on me on top of everything else.
They quoted me around $1,461 for the dental cleaning and possible extractions assuming nothing else came up or he didn't need any more [extractions]. Then they wanted a kidney ultrasound for about $820 and an ECG for another $825. So we're looking at over 3 grand before we even walk out the door. And that's after the almost $700 initial visit with testing. I get that vets have bills too but over $3000 for all of that? I nearly fainted. I appreciated the vet being thorough but I did not appreciate being fear mongered into it. It's just really unfortunate that veterinary care has gotten so expensive that you have to choose between going broke or saving your fur baby. If you've got the money I'm sure they're great. But unfortunately there was no way we could make it work.
