Not once, but twice, Petco Grooming has denied our 14-year-old dog service, and while we completely understand that groomers have the right to make decisions based on an animal’s safety, comfort, and ability to be groomed, the issue here has been the lack of honesty, consistency, and communication. The first time, we were told she had bitten a groomer, only to later explain that she was simply nervous while navigating vestibular disease. This was especially frustrating because we had called beforehand to confirm they were able and willing to accommodate her condition. Fast forward to today: after booking another appointment for our now stable dog, with her condition documented in her file, no one reviewed or addressed any concerns leading up to the appointment. We were allowed to drop her off and leave, only to receive a call later saying they could no longer groom any dog with vestibular disease. No written policy or documentation was provided—only a verbal explanation. From what we can find, this does not appear to be a company-wide Petco policy, but rather a decision that can be made by an individual groomer or manager. Again, we have no issue with someone deciding they are not comfortable grooming her or believing the environment may cause unnecessary stress. We would have completely understood that. What is disappointing is the repeated misinformation, contradictory explanations, and poor communication. If they had simply been upfront and honest from the beginning, this entire situation could have been handled with understanding and respect.
Employees are always so nice and helpful
This Petco is the best in town, it’s fully stocked, small, clean, but nimble, so many selections, and the visitors can clearly see the efforts and love the store workers put in. The manager was very friendly, knowledgeable and affective in assisting me while doing another responsibility for another customer. I was able to find freeze dried chicken hearts for my cats in the dog section of the food isle, as it was safe and compatible. I also saw tons of affordable sales and clearance items nicely arranged would absolutely come back for those next time visit. This is a mighty and lovely go-to pet store in the area. I would definitely come back here more often to fill my pet needs.

Horrible customer service. I came in to pick up an online order. The woman behind the counter looked me right in my face, disregarded me and continued talking to the customer in front of her. Another woman walked past me, not once but twice, never asked if I was being or needed help.. adhere 10 minutes of waiting for someone to acknowledge me, the staff who walked past me proceeded to call over another customer while still disregarding my existence. I told her that I had been waiting for someone to help me and her answer was " oh I didn't know you weren't being help but yet she walked past me twice standing in the same spot.. Did she think I was a part of the decor??? NEVER AGAIN.. I will continue to shop at petsmart/chewy for my pet needs.. I go where I'm valued sa a customer
I called ahead because severe storms were forecasted and asked if I could adjust my appointment time for my two dogs’ vaccination appointment. I was told I had to come at the scheduled time.
After I had already left, Petco texted me that the veterinarian would be 30 minutes late, so I returned later as instructed. I drove through heavy rain and traffic with two dogs only to arrive and find out the clinic had lost power and could not provide services.
What frustrates me most is that they were able to text customers about the veterinarian’s delay, but never notified anyone about the power outage.
Two trips, hours wasted, and zero respect for customers’ time.
