Absolutely unacceptable experience.
I arrived at 7:30 AM for my dog’s scheduled appointment. The receptionist told me my dog couldn’t be a drop-off because of the notes on his account, which I completely understood since he has anxiety. She then told me the doctor would be available for an in-room visit in about 30 minutes, so I agreed to wait.
To keep my anxious dog calm, I spent over an hour walking him around the parking lot. After waiting all that time, I received a phone call from the receptionist saying they were now fully booked and that I would have to reschedule.
When I asked, “So you had me wait here for over an hour just to tell me you can’t see my dog?” she simply replied, “Yes, unfortunately.”
This wasn’t just poor scheduling it was a complete lack of respect for my time and my pet’s well-being. If the schedule was full, someone should have told me before asking me to wait. Instead, they wasted over an hour of my morning and put unnecessary stress on an anxious dog.
Mistakes happen, but how they’re handled matters. There was no apology, no attempt to make things right, and no consideration for the inconvenience they caused. I expected much better from a veterinary hospital.

There are truly no words to express how grateful I am for the incredible care, compassion, and dedication shown by the entire Farmingdale 7 daughters Banfield team, which includes Dr. Monroe, Heather, Jackie, Dawn, Bea, Mel and Kaela. From the moment you walk through the door, every member of the office staff is kind, welcoming, and genuinely invested in both their patients and the people who love them. Dr. Monroe consistently goes above and beyond—not only by providing exceptional medical care, but by treating my dogs with patience, kindness, and genuine love. She takes the time to answer every question, ease every worry, and make even the most difficult moments a little more bearable.
It is rare to find a team that combines such outstanding professionalism with so much heart. You never feel like just another appointment; you feel heard, supported, and cared for. The compassion shown, the extra time they give, and the comfort you all provide make an immeasurable difference. Thank you for always going the extra mile and for treating my pets as if they were your own. Your kindness and dedication do not go unnoticed, and I am so thankful to have such an extraordinary team caring for my beloved pets.

You know, I like the doctors but Banfield as a whole is terrible. I had a follow up for my dog who has been sick for over 2 weeks now. Just before July 4th I had to bring her to an ER vet because they were too busy to see her for bloody diarrhea and vomiting that hit after 2 weeks of antibiotics. She made it through July 4th and was supposed to go to her follow up at Banfield today and I get a call saying they need to cancel because the computers are down. The woman literally said “I don’t know what to tell you, we can’t even CHECK YOU OUT.” MY DOG IS SICK. My dog needs the doctor to LOOK at her. Why is CHECKING ME OUT your FIRST CAUSE OF CONCERN????!

Never on my life thoughts people will do stuff like one of your doctor did. I take my cat sick because I knew he need antibiotics, it's not the first time that one of my cats gets sick like that, but your doctor came just to tell me that my cat was going to die and that to know if he was going to survive we need to do tests that reached up to 1,800. Is not even the worst the worst part of all is this is that I told her no that my cat was fine that the only thing he needed was antibiotics and that if it is only to put him and you know what the woman did she didn’t put the antibiotics when she told she would but she didn’t guarantee what cat will get better. How do I know she didn’t put the antibiotic is because my cat was getting worse and worse every day instead of healing, I had to take him to another vet where they put the antibiotics, and my cat is much better. But she did charge though but it is a lie that she gave him the antibiotics because after when came to this banfield my cat came to the point of not wanting to eat and 3 days ago the other vet gave him his antibiotics and he is already looking for food and looking a lot better. I had never had problems with Banfield is the first time and I don't know if it's just that person who took care of my cat this time, because I've always gone to Commack(they didn’t have appointments thats why i took him to this one) I've never had problems with them and they did listen to me and I've even been to Banfield from other states and I've never had a problem like this. So I think this THE PROBLEM IS THE DOCTOR

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience.
About a week ago, I brought both of my dogs in for their routine vaccinations. During that visit, the veterinarian recommended that my older dog have a dental cleaning, so before leaving, I scheduled the procedure with the receptionist for the following Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. I even arranged to arrive late to work so I could drop my dog off.
A couple of days later, I received a text message stating, “Sorry we missed your appointment,” which made no sense because my vaccination appointment had already been completed and my dental appointment wasn’t until Tuesday. I assumed it was simply a system glitch.
When I arrived on Tuesday morning to drop off my dog, the receptionist informed me that she couldn’t find my appointment. I explained the confusing text message and attempted to show her the confirmation, but she refused to even look at it. Instead, she insisted that I must have made a mistake and implied that the error was mine.
What made the situation even more frustrating was that she claimed they don’t schedule dental appointments on Saturdays. However, the appointment that mysteriously appeared in their system had supposedly been created on Saturday afternoon for 7:30 a.m. that same Saturday, a time that had already passed. That clearly indicates there was an error on the clinic’s end.
By that point, I had already adjusted my work schedule and driven to the office. Rather than acknowledging the mistake or trying to accommodate my dog, I was told I would have to wait for the veterinarian to arrive to see if they could fit her in. Waiting indefinitely wasn’t an option because I needed to get to work.
The receptionist eventually rescheduled me for the following Monday. When I asked for printed confirmation because I didn’t want to waste another trip, she simply scribbled the appointment on a piece of paper and told me they couldn’t print anything to verify it. That response only reinforced my lack of confidence in their scheduling process.
When I returned on Monday to pick up my dog after the procedure, the front desk experience was equally disappointing. I walked in, greeted the staff with a friendly “Good afternoon,” and was met with an eye roll from the same receptionist. The other employees ignored me completely and didn’t acknowledge my greeting or tell me someone would assist me. Thankfully, the veterinary technician who brought my dog out was kind and professional.
I pay a significant amount every month for my pets’ wellness plan because I expect quality care and customer service. Mistakes happen, but what matters is how they’re handled. At no point did anyone take accountability, apologize for the scheduling error, or show consideration for the inconvenience and lost time I experienced. Instead, I was made to feel as though I was at fault.
The veterinarians and technicians have always been wonderful with my pets, but my interactions with the front desk staff left me feeling dismissed, disrespected, and undervalued as a client. I sincerely hope the practice addresses these customer service issues, because no pet owner should be treated this way.
