  Very helpful and kind. They always take such great care of my puppy anytime he comes in. He is always calm and excited to see them which makes me super happy.

  We love Setauket Animal Hospital, especially working with Moe. Talk about kind, compassionate, and goes out of her way to ensure our old dog Moose is well cared for and all of our needs are met! We’d be lost without her!

  Clinic Refused Care for My Critically Ill Service Dog. On May 5th/2026, early morning, I called ahead while rushing my dog (service animal) to the clinic because she suddenly became very sick and couldn’t swallow. Was told to come in and they’d see us at 9:30. I arrived early, but her condition got worse while waiting. Another client even offered to let us go first after seeing her state. Instead of helping, the manager (“Teo,” refused last name) came out, asked non-medical questions, and when I asked to speak to a vet, told me to leave immediately. No urgency, no compassion, no care. Completely unacceptable.

  Our large breed dog has been going here for about a year, and had TPLO surgery here. The surgery went great (the surgeon is actually not affiliated directly with Setauket Animal Hospital) and the customer service was great. They are pricey, but we felt like she was well-cared for. My main gripe about this vet is the pharmacy. They will not call or fax prescriptions to outside pharmacies - I believe because they sell their own meds. So, it makes getting your prescriptions pretty difficult - you have to pick up a hard copy and mail it to an outside pharmacy if you want to get fair prices or a medication they do not stock. It would be like your personal physician refusing to communicate with your pharmacy because they want you to spend more money, or buy their preferred drug, at the front desk. It may seem silly, but getting flea/tick/worm medication is what we use the vet for 99% of the time. If they are going to make it this inconvenient, I will go ahead and use the vet down the road who is willing to fax or call an online pharmacy. Really, very nice people. Highly recommend the doctors, just can't recommend the business based on their pharmacy practices.

  The worst staff ever! It was a dump to begin with the lack of compassion, leaving scared animals to sit alone on cold tables for hours on end and being dishonest with costs..stay away
