  The worst experience ever. My cat had a tumor on his paw and the “Vet” said what do you want me to do about it? I turned around and left and they tried to charge me quadruple for a med I refused and went to a decent educated vet who recognized the tumor and being cancerous. He’s now most likely dying as it’s malignant but I give him the best care,food,supplements, meds and love and doting. The horrid dump needs to be closed down . Do not ever go there unless your pets life doesn’t mean anything to you!

  We brought our puppy leo in for surgery yesterday and the staff here couldn’t be more compassionate and knowledgeable. I called a couple times throughout the day and they were happy to provide updates/ let me know how he was doing They gave him lots of love/ walks throughout the day to keep him calm and comfortable. I was extremely nervous to be apart from him for this long but knowing he was in good hands made the experience 10x better. Thank you to everyone for taking care of our boy and always being extremely honest/ supportive anytime we visit. Also would like to note they are not expensive … Having a dog/ keeping them healthy comes with a price and it’s worth every penny….

  Our large breed dog has been going here for about a year, and had TPLO surgery here. The surgery went great (the surgeon is actually not affiliated directly with Setauket Animal Hospital) and the customer service was great. They are pricey, but we felt like she was well-cared for. My main gripe about this vet is the pharmacy. They will not call or fax prescriptions to outside pharmacies - I believe because they sell their own meds. So, it makes getting your prescriptions pretty difficult - you have to pick up a hard copy and mail it to an outside pharmacy if you want to get fair prices or a medication they do not stock. It would be like your personal physician refusing to communicate with your pharmacy because they want you to spend more money, or buy their preferred drug, at the front desk. It may seem silly, but getting flea/tick/worm medication is what we use the vet for 99% of the time. If they are going to make it this inconvenient, I will go ahead and use the vet down the road who is willing to fax or call an online pharmacy. Really, very nice people. Highly recommend the doctors, just can't recommend the business based on their pharmacy practices.
