I went here and got a fish for a counter top tank we are staging and repairing a home in Hornell but the fishie will stay with us but on showing days he’s going to be showing himself off. He’s a real pretty fish and her first pet fish. She picked out a beautiful white betta fish for the tank. Very nice fish swims and greets for food. I’ve had luck before with petco fish my betta lasted 4/5 years with a nice tank set up when I was in college. Had to travel here from Hornell. Hornell needs a pet store desperately there’s many pets here who need this type of place tens of thousands! Everyone here has a pet or even multiple but no store!

they killed my tank with one ich infested fish, by far one of the worst kept companies ive experienced. the new guy, tall blonde kid with all the attitude in the world is pretty rude and doesn’t look like an approachable employee. if you don’t like your job then find somewhere else instead of ruining peoples moods. on top of the complete lack of space in the aisles, always giant carts of cat food or fish tanks on carts in the middle of the aisles, getting a single fish from these diseased tanks, can kill your entire fish tank. i tell people not to get fish from here, because in a matter of a few days after putting one of their fish in my tank all the fish I bought elsewhere (in much better conditions for them) died ich and parasites. by far one of the worst places for fish and animals in general, they don’t ever take care of their bettas. if you love your tanks, or the fish in your tanks do NOT get any fish from petco. go to country max or another store. do not support the cruelty this company allows

BEWARE: Incompetent/lazy grooming staff (namely Jazmine G.) I find myself having to write this review from my veterinarian’s office (which I’ve had to waste a same-day trip to), just to warn others not to waste their valuable time and money with this location’s grooming department. Today we arrived for a scheduled grooming appointment for our Goldendoodle, having already pre-disclosed during booking/check-in that he had some inevitably doodle-matting and specifically selected Petco’s additional Goldendoodle de-matting service. Despite this, groomer Jazmine G. immediately refused service upon check-in, citing the same matting that had been disclosed in advance and for which Petco advertises specialized services. Our dog had only a few manageable mats on his chest and back, is accustomed to grooming, has no behavioral issues, and has never required sedation for grooming. We sought an immediate veterinary opinion (within minutes of the appointment) after being told veterinary involvement was necessary, and our veterinarian confirmed there was absolutely no medical indication for a sedated groom and expressed utter confusion as to why any competent groomer would refuse to proceed with normal grooming. All mats could be separated from skin with more than 2-3” of fur vs skin. If Petco markets de-matting services, accepts appointments for matted dogs, and charges additional fees for those services, customers should reasonably expect those services to actually be provided. Allowing consumers to schedule appointments for matted pets only to turn them away upon arrival for the very condition disclosed at booking is frustrating, inconvenient, and misleading. Unfortunately, this is not our first negative experience with this location. Pet owners—particularly those with breeds such as Goldendoodles that are naturally prone to matting—should exercise caution before relying on this salon. Consider confirming in advance whether your groomer is genuinely willing and trained to handle de-matting, otherwise you may find yourself wasting a trip and scrambling for alternatives.
