  I came in to exchange some merchandise. The lady at the register was friendly and helpful, but needed a manager. The manager came up with a sour pus face for a start. She was rude to me and the guests behind me and refused to assist me. Mind you I spend anywhere between 800 and a couple thousand dollars a month here. Will not be returning after this visit. There was one item which was purchased separately at another Petco and either it wasn’t cashed under my account or was cashed on someone else’s. Clearly they had the product, which was a dental chew for dogs. I just wanted to exchange it for the same brand, same price, just a different size. I must have grabbed the wrong bag because I had a full cart that day. It was clearly an even exchange and the bag wasn’t even opened. The manager persisted to say if there’s no receipt I could have stole it for all she knew. Then when she walked away, she tried to take my bag of treats with her until I asked for them back. Customer service was ZERO help.

  Terrible experience. I was made late to my grooming appointment because the cashier, I think her name was brittany? Wouldnt stop speaking to me. I almost missed my appointment due to that. Reign it in petco. Im okay to chat a bit, but an appointment is set for a specific time for specific reasons.

  I was really disappointed with my experience at this Petco. From the moment I walked in, no one greeted me or asked if I needed help finding anything. After I picked out my items, I went to the register and saw three employees standing together having a conversation. They didn’t acknowledge me until I placed my items on the counter to check out. Throughout the transaction, there was no “Did you find everything okay?” or even basic courtesy. It honestly felt like I was interrupting their conversation and that I was an inconvenience. After I paid, I said, “Thank you,” but no one responded. What made the experience even more upsetting was that the customers after me received warm greetings and friendly service. I don’t want to jump to conclusions or accuse any one of discrimination, but as a person of color customer, the difference in treatment left me wondering if race played a role. I sincerely hope that’s not the case, but it’s how the interaction made me feel. Every customer deserves to be acknowledged and treated with the same level of respect and courtesy, regardless of who they are. I hope management takes customer service seriously and ensures every guest has a welcoming experience.
