  All other Banfield pet hospitals I’ve been to (in Staten Island, New Jersey, and Long Island) you get to go back with your dog so you can talk to the vet and show them the concerns on your dog. This was my dogs first visit at this location to ‘establish care’ since I’ve moved to Brooklyn and wanted to make our lives easier by going to a Banfield in Brooklyn. You don’t get to go back with your dog which doesn’t make sense if this was our first visit to establish care which they make a big deal if you need to pick up medicine. How can you build a relationship with my dog and I if I don’t get to go back there with him to discuss him and what’s going on. Makes no sense. I also don’t trust what’s going on if I can’t actually see what you’re doing. I suggest going to any other Banfield. Also had to wait more than an hour after my appointment to be seen so if you’re someone that works plan to call in late.

  If I would give Benfield Pet Hospital on 238 Atlantic Ave minus 5 stars I would. They confirmed appointment a week ago. I paid 40$ for uber to get there. When my son arrived there with our dog they said there is no appointment they change it without letting us know but claimed they texted and text didn't go through. When I called customer service I was put on hold for 30 minutes. After finally i got to speak to customer service rep there was loud laughs on the background making t hard to hear the rep. They were able to give appointment that day two hours later, but even then we have to wait an hour to be checked in. after that the hospital employee claimed my payment card is not there ( we set up everything before it was there) until another employee didn't come and found the card on file . It supposed to be first time charge and insurance would start every month after that but they charged like a would have come without insurance. The amount is wrong . I set up insurance before scheduling appointment. The initial charge supposed to be 109$ they charged 238$. I wouldn't recommend anybody to come to this place. This place is a mess and it looks like people coming here to get free service Insurance is not cheap either. Never ever get this insurance and don't go to this place. Be aware of this place. Save your time. energy and money Nightmare experience. Never again.

  I truly cannot believe it’s resorted to posting a poor review online, but my experience with this Banfield is inexcusable. I have made sure to use Banfield for my dogs as they have several locations in states we have lived in for continuity of care. This location is wildly unprofessional. The communication is nonexistent. For one, they lost one of my dogs records? They cannot tell me the last time she got her heartworm shot, which is pretty important. Secondly, during our yearly visit where we made it clear that we wanted to get both dogs up to date on all shots and vaccines, they do the heartworm test but fail to tell us that they are due for their shot (we did not know because their records were lost) OR talk to us about any other heartworm preventative. Instead, I realized the same day that it was missed and called. I was lied to over the phone saying that they did bring it up (they absolutely did not) and that we now have to pay a room fee for them to go back and get the heart worm shot. Today, we go back and pay the fee to get them both back up to date on heart worm medication. Both on the phone AND in person, my husband lets them know we want the yearly shot. I just checked my bill and they were both given the six month shot. When we called them to ask why they did that when we specifically let them know several times that we wanted the yearly one, they were dismissive and stated they “only had the six month shot” and that they “would have told us”. They did not. I am beyond disappointed in the communication and professionalism of this vet and will absolutely not be returning. If you can find another vet, do so.

  I love how easy Banfield is. Dr. Martinez is amazing and really takes the time to get to know you and your pet!

  Do not visit this location. The cops were called on me because I asked for information to make a complaint. I made an appointment for my Ill senior dog and they canceled 30 minutes before and I was already there in 90 degree weather. They Wouldn't accommodate me or give me information to make a complaint. Dominique the manager called the cops on me. I asked if she would rather call the cops on me instead of giving me the information to make a complaint and she said YUP! I sent a email to Banfield and I have yet to hear back from anyone. Next I'm taking it to the media
