    At what point does a fart become an assault? The experience was wonderful and the customer service was exceptional… until the leg lift. Within seconds, the stench was so thick that it engulfed us completely. I am having nightmares ever since! It’s all I can smell… AND TASTE!!! Should I see a doctor about this? In all seriousness, this actually happened. We even talked amongst ourselves about who had birthed this horrific malodor, but the leg lift had been a dead giveaway. Good prices on beds, though and lots of cute clothes for dogs and cats.

    I’ve used Petco grooming for years (since 2015) when I lived on the East Coast, and always had great experiences. That is why I continued using them after moving here. Unfortunately, my experiences at the Northtowne location have been consistently disappointing. This was my fifth visit in a years time, and each time I’ve picked up my golden retriever I’ve been unhappy with the service or the interaction with staff. Today my dog (2 years old as of yesterday) was visibly anxious and distressed—completely out of character for her. Today, the groomer noted she was “nervous” and “talkative” and didn’t like her paws touched or the dryer. However, when we take her to the Sparks location, we’re always told she’s sweet, calm, and a “dream” to work with. She has never shown signs of stress or anxiety there, including at pickup. We also consistently pay for the additional “holiday” package, but she has never received the bandana from this location, and her nails are clearly clipped—not buffed as included in the service. It’s frustrating to pay for add-ons that aren’t being provided. Today’s experience was especially concerning. My dog remained upset for about 20 minutes after pickup, which is not normal for her. She was so stressed that she drank water excessively once we got home. It genuinely made me question how she was handled during her appointment. Additionally, despite arriving within 30 minutes of receiving the pickup text (we live in the Northern Valleys, and that is a reasonable timeframe given traffic and construction), the interaction felt rushed and unwelcoming, as if the groomer was annoyed. At this point, I’m no longer comfortable bringing my dog to this location. Her behavior here versus at the Sparks location is drastically different, and as a pet owner, that’s deeply concerning. I’m overall disappointed and will be looking into local or in-home grooming options moving forward.

    The groomers are so unprofessional. The girl at the desk was genuinely choking my dog with the leash as she was yanking her in. I’ve never had someone not know how to deal with an anxious dog. The other groomer was making out with a dog and blowing in its face. Another one was blowing dog hair all over the place and the girl who did the gland expression on my dog didn’t even use gloves and was talking shit about dog owners. She asked me multiple times if I wanted her to trim my dogs nails I said no because this was an emergency thing my dog has a groomer and she was being so weird about it. Like girl you just choked my dog shut up.
