The environment felt very get in-get out. They were just trying to be as quick as possible and the attitude didn’t feel friendly. On top of this, they misread the dates of my cats vaccinations and then tried to put fault on our previous vet. Lots of confusion all around. Didn’t have a warm experience. The lady at the front desk was extremely nice and kind, so that’s why I’m bumping from 1 to 2 stars.

I used to be a big fan of this Vetco and would've given 5 stars. I'll give 2 stars for now because of my prior good experiences. The quality has gone off in the last year though. The location changes your appointment time, they don't have as much availability, the front desk has blamed me when they screwed up, one of the vet techs used an offensive amount of fragrance so you could smell her through the whole store and left my pet coated in it for days after their appointments, and the latest. They prescribed my pet something for an intermittent issue in a format my pet wouldn't take. I didn't realize it until I tried to fill it, so I asked for another format I could get my pet would take (I have gone through too much trial and error, my pet is a fighter when it comes to taking meds, and I know what is easier for my pet). Same drug, same dose, same medical issue. Think capsules vs. pill vs. liquid. They said they need me to bring the pet back in, AND PAY AGAIN, for another exam. I have already taken my pet to them twice for the same issue with a year in between, making it obvious this is ongoing, and my pet had an exam with them within the amount of time needed to prescribe medication (much less than 1 year). So scammy. There's no rational reason to decline this except to get more money. On the positive end, their vets always took as much time as I needed to answer my questions during visits and they give you personal rooms, the latter unlike many vets post-covid. They also wouldn't refill my pets' monthly flea preventative without requiring another visit despite them having seem my pets within the last year. Yikes cash grab.

Red Flags: Usually, there are pets that yelp or make noise when hurt and those that quietly endure. I was concerned as we had just moved back to Las Vegas and she did a little yelp during activity so I took her to Vetco Total Care #2128 on West Sahara as we had been for a check up years ago. NEVER AGAIN Petco may be fine but there are many other caring vets that can show an ounce of compassion. It seems to me that this entity- especially this location has gone sideways and is too busy to truly care. I gave them several opportunities within the last month to address my concerns and they were ignored. 🚩 Especially during a crisis, pet parents may trust a vet because they do and emotions plus the well-being of our pets are so important. I was told after this visit by bringing up several times in person and on the phone that I can always request the vet to do most of the test in the room. That is how it is always done - except with Vetco! This protocol is secretive, not above board, and takes advantage of separating the parent and the pet. 🚩 I gave her half the amount for only a few days of pain meds and none of the liquid as she was too doped up. No problems except with inadequate care and an eye test I already did at home. The only positive and 1 star is that the eye drops have been refilled and it hurt me and Mindy to even go back there to pick up the prescription. I saw that they were still overwhelmed and others were in despair. The overmedicate and rush for a big $938 bill. 🚩 Did they put a muzzle on her because she is now reluctant to partake out of a pup cup? Why- because it is not necessary for my Mindy. That is a key indicator of harsh treatment in the back room so some of these tests and handling of your pet need to be in front of your eyes. 🚩 No introduction of the veterinarian. I never met her until after she did the tests. And then, she never introduced herself. I was told beforehand that they take them in the back so in case of moving their joints they may yelp so if I hear something that is what it is. This is not compassion. A big red flag.🚩 I was rushed to make a decision by the assistant to get Mindy seen and comply with the plethora of tests to be done. Another red flag.🚩 Is a regular urinalysis out of the question? I put a pause on that because I knew what the technical term meant. Mindy and I walk everyday, rain or shine. This is how we bond. This is consistency. The test to watch out for is called Cystocentesis , a veterinary procedure in which a needle is inserted into the urinary bladder of an animal through the abdominal wall, and a urine sample is taken. No disclosure of options. She can pee in a cup the following morning and I can bring it back. So simple yet not mentioned. Still another red flag.🚩 No initiative in explaining things. I had to ask about every single one. 🚩 What does this have to do with musculoskeletal exam? “would yelp while sitting on jasmine's lap or when pulled away from another dog”. Why was she in Jasmine’s lap and not mine? Why was she in the vicinity of another dog?????? The vet was Camille Martinez #2640. 🚩 Most corporations will not change their protocol. If there is one pet parent that can benefit from going somewhere else for compassionate care, then my passionate and factual writing brings hope to those who know the difference. Be the ubercourage for your pet. They already have it everyday. Put your protocol and expectations in your phone for your next vet visit. Pure love.❤️

The Vet that took care of my dog was the worst ! Didn’t even give me the chance to ask questions about the plan of treatment. She only stayed in the room maybe less than a minute (after checking my dog in a separate room) and got out very fast ! The ear wash that she recommended only made it worse for my dog’s ear infection ! Took my dog to another Vet Clinic after a few days. Didn’t take her back to Vetco because Dr. Rayburn was on vacation… The only Vet I trust in that facility.
