  Demetria was extremely polite and helped me get a good deal on dog food. Never had a bad experience at this store and I stop in every couple of weeks for pet food.

  My fur baby Snoopy belle loves her amazing dog food. We bought her two toys for five dollars. One is a lemonade cup and the other is "paw corn". Lol she is shutting around as proud as can be. Thanks.

  The customer service was fine when we went to the check out, staff seemed pretty decent. However. I've never seen so many dead animals at one location in the same day. I went in to buy some stress coat for my cory fish who's been a bit stressed and we always like to browse at the fish and reptiles when wet go into a pet store and came across many dead fish and at least one dead crab. I know they're "just fish" to most people but they're still living creatures in their care and with that many dead, you have to wonder and question how much care these animals are getting behind the scenes. I'm hoping it's just that their main keeper quit or something. If I see improvement in animal care, I'll update my review.

  Earlier today I stopped by your Albuquerque location on Lomas Blvd. I received great service from a very knowledgeable lady in the fish department and ended up buying a couple of fish for my saltwater tank. I brought my husband by a couple hours later as there were a couple expensive fish I was looking at and wanted his opinion. There were 3 associates blocking the pathway directly in front of the saltwater fish. They looked directly at us then continued chit chatting. We took the long way around the aisle to approach from the other side of the aisle, only to have them deliberately shift to block our access. When I asked them if they could move down so we could look at the saltwater fish, they took approximately 2 steps. We ended up having to basically move in front of them to see the tanks. As I was pointing out the fish I was interested in, one of the associates started that he couldn't sell us any fish today. I asked why and he remarked condescendingly that they were all in quarantine. I told him i had just bought 2 and wasn't informed they were in quarantine. He said that we should have been told. My husband asked why they were in quarantine and was told, again very condescendingly, that if we looked at a specific fish, we could see his fins looked rough. I told him I had just bought a couple fish just hours earlier. He told me that I should just quarantine them. I indicated that I had already added them to my tank. His response was that Petco doesn't guarantee their saltwater fish. I got his name and went to the front desk to complain, only to be told he was the assistant manager! Fortunately, the actual manager was in the store although he was off duty. We didn't even need to tell him the name of the associate, he already knew. Apparently Shemar, Amanda and one unnamed associate have received many complaints. We just moved into the area and I was excited to be so close to a Petco. Based on this experience, I'll give my business to anyone except Petco in the future.
