I was very happy with the results of my chihuahua's dental cleaning and tooth removal. The price was a but of a shock, but I think that is having a pet. If pet parents could be given possible estimates for tooth removal when dropping off pets, that would be helpful. A lso, get poor Kim up front some help. She does it all. Thee Mercantile team is outstanding!!

We wanted to like Banfield, but we couldn't stand the drop-off arrangement for vets. As far as I can tell, they take your pet back in a carrier and just leave them in there, no food, no water, no bathroom, for hours until they have time to see your pet. It happened to me more than once that I would bring in my cat right as they opened just to get her back at 5 or so, hours and hours later. Once or twice her carrier was filled with urine because my cat hadn't had access to a litter box the whole time. The wellness plan also felt a little scammy. We took advantage of all the services, but the services at times felt unnecessary. For example, my indoor cat did not need deworming meds every six months. We ultimately left, got pet insurance, and switched to another vet. We were shocked at how easy the appointment was, how quick it went, how much happier our cat was because she hadn't been stuck in a carrier by herself for hours, and how much cheaper it was when we got all the same services. Staff at Banfield were nice, and the drop-off arrangement is not their fault. The only other complaint is that Banfield apparently is notorious with other vets for promising to send over pets' records, and never actually doing so, which made our transition to another vet more complicated than necessary.

They will turn you away if they have animals and when they do the recommendations for other vets are horrible. It's like they have a list of the worst vets in the area to make them look better. Took a puppy to them and they wouldn't take the puppy saying its probably parvo but wouldn't listen when we said puppy was already tested and was negative. Puppy wouldn't eat but would drink no problem but from not eating was weak. They wouldn't have anything to do with the puppy. They told us where to go but the vets they list have the worst reviews in town. We found our own place that actually took our puppy and checked it out no problem. Don't waste time with these guys.
