Banfield Pet Hospital® - Turnersville provides quality and attentive health and wellness care for dog, cat and small animal pet patients. Our veterinarians and staff are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership and preventive health care with a full-service medical facility offering general services like routine vaccinations, microchipping, dental and surgical care and more. We are accepting new patients now.
Unfortunately, our experience with Banfield Pet Hospital in Turnersville was extremely disappointing, particularly during our second visit.
We went to Banfield because our dogs needed canine influenza vaccinations and boosters in order to board at K9 Resorts. At our initial visit, we were charged $157 for one dog and $137 for the other. Two weeks later, we returned for the required boosters and were shocked to discover that we were charged another full office visit, examination, medical waste fee and the same price for the booster. By the time everything was completed, we had spent roughly $600 for two dogs for this vaccination series.
I understand that veterinary care costs money and I understand that Banfield’s pricing may require an office visit with vaccinations. My biggest issue was the lack of transparency. Nobody explained during the first visit that returning for the boosters would essentially mean paying another round of office and examination fees. Had we known the total cost upfront, we could have made a more informed decision.
Unfortunately, the second visit became even more upsetting.
While we were waiting for our dogs to be brought back, the doctor came into the room and immediately told me that their teeth were “disgusting.” She proceeded to shame me for their teeth.
I understand that dental care is important. I am not opposed to hearing that my dogs need dental attention. There is, however, a compassionate and professional way to communicate that to a pet owner.
My 11-year-old Pomeranian also has a very large, non-cancerous fatty tumor. Her regular veterinarian has examined it repeatedly and has explained to us that removing it would likely cause more problems than leaving it alone because it would most likely grow back. At this point, it is so large that removing it would likely leave insufficient skin to close the area properly. It does not cause her pain. When I explained these points to the doctor during my visit on July 14, 2026, she responded to me that these statements weren’t true.
I already carry a tremendous amount of guilt and sadness about this growth because I love my dog dearly. I don’t need a veterinarian to shame me or make me feel like I am failing her.
What was also concerning was the inconsistency between the two visits. At the first appointment, nobody mentioned anything about her tumor or her teeth. Then, just two weeks later, these issues suddenly became a major focus of the second visit.
We were also told during the second visit that our other 10-year-old Pomeranian has a heart murmur. Again, this had not been mentioned during the initial examination just two weeks earlier. I’m not saying the finding is necessarily incorrect, but the difference between the two visits certainly left us questioning the consistency of the examinations.
I want to be clear that I am not criticizing Banfield because a veterinarian identified health concerns. I welcome honest information about my dogs’ health. What I am criticizing is the way those concerns were communicated, the lack of transparency regarding the cost of the vaccination series and the completely different experience we received during our second visit.
Our dogs are family. We want veterinarians who will educate us, communicate clearly and treat us with compassion, not make us feel ashamed or judged.
Unfortunately, after this experience, Banfield Pet Hospital in Turnersville will not be our choice for future veterinary care.

Been a member here for over 16 years for multiple dogs. Last few well visits if you're lucky you get a minute and a half with a vet. They take your dog in the back and you are clueless if they or what they are doing to your pet. I had a concern for my dogs eye. It had 2 growths on lower lid. Every time I questioned if there was something that could be done
They said leave it alone. Messing with it could cause blindness. The growth kept getting bigger. They put the fear of God in me. They also claimed they didn't do that surgery there. That eye would have to be removed, now I'm devastated! And scared.
I call corporate Banfield.
Quite a few times. Asking them what their policy is, and why are dogs being taken into the back? When there's perfectly good examination tables in the room. I told him my concerns for my pup's eye they kept rerouting me and having Banfield. Hospital call me back. Same people i've been dealing with. This went on for a few weeks. Now, all of a sudden, they're telling me they can operate on the eye when specifically telling me they don't do that. I found a pet eye care specialist
And had the surgery, and my baby is looking good. After sixteen years, being with this company, their services have gone way downhill. I told them they should help pay for my dogs
Surgery seeing they let it go this far. But of course, i've not heard from anybody since. That's my story.
And my disappointment. Don't trust them folks

We had a wonderful veterinary hospital experience. We were able to book an appointment on a Sunday and we were done in 1 hour. The staff and doctor were so nice. We will certainly come back, and it was less expensive than other urgent care centers in our area.

We have a Banfield plan and still prefer this location, even though there’s another one closer to us. The veterinarians are kind and professional, and the receptionists are always friendly and helpful. We’ve consistently had good experiences here with our dog, Nobel, and always feel comfortable coming back.
