  Dr. Harrs has been so great with our 2 year old lab mix, Robbie! Robbie is very anxious about visiting the vet and her patience with both us, as his owners, and Robbie has been so helpful trying to navigate through identifying and treating some allergies he has been dealing with over the last year. We are so grateful to her and everyone at Rockaway Animal Hospital!

  We saw Dr Kahn because our 19 y o kitty was not eating for a few days. She went through the things to consider especially for a baby that old. Turns out it was her teeth. She was given antibiotics and pain meds and she is doing so much better! Eating like a champ! Dr Kahn is so great! She is so kind and compassionate. And really explained everything so we knew what we had to consider. We have not had a bad experience here since we started bringing our cat. They have always taken such good care of her!

  So pleased with the kindness and consideration given, especially since we were not established patients yet. The ease of making appointment for next day, and the follow up the same day with diagnosis and plan for remedy and ability to get her surgery the next day is so amazing. The vet just called and was so kind, and took the time to explain everything and answer all my questions! Rockaway Animal Hospital is now our permanent vet for both of our dogs. From the person who took my original call, to the kind receptionist that checked us in for surgery, to the two vets that took care of our girl the kindness and compassion was superb!

  I could not be happier with the care that my cat Zoey received for her dental surgery. I had a very disappointing experience with my usual vet when it came to caring for Zoey and addressing her issues, but I was instantly put at ease at Rockaway Animal Hospital. Every single staff member was incredible and I knew Zoey was in great care. Having a steroid medication as a topical ear treatment and treats compounded since she's picky with medications only made me appreciate everything they did even more.

  My dog Raphael has had a rough road since puppyhood, starting with a serious case of hemorrhagic gastroenteritis (HGE) that led to countless gastro issues in his early months. Rockaway Animal Hospital has been there for every step of it. Compared to friends and family dealing with similar issues at other practices, the cost here has been remarkably reasonable. The team has also consistently gone out of their way to try and be flexible and fit us in for last-minute scheduling for urgent needs even outside of emergency visits. They’ve been wonderful about Raphael’s specific needs too. He’s deaf, and after so many visits for treatment, he’s understandably grown more sensitive and wary around people in general, including at times some of the doctors themselves. The staff has never taken it personally; they’ve adapted with patience and care every time, never making us feel like a burden for needing extra flexibility. We’re so grateful to have a vet team that’s stuck with us through thick and thin. Here’s to many more healthy years for Raphael, thanks to the care at Rockaway Animal Hospital!
