  Very disappointed with my experience at Petco Grooming. After a poor grooming experience with the groomer we were assigned previously, we specifically requested Stephanie, who came highly recommended by a close family friend. We made the appointment three months ago and were told her first available opening was July 4, so we gladly waited. When we arrived for our appointment, Stephanie informed us that she would not be grooming our dog because she is no longer accepting new clients. She explained that, after working there for over 10 years, she has the right to decline new customers. While I respect any groomer’s ability to manage their client list, this should have been communicated when the appointment was made—not after we waited three months and arrived for our scheduled appointment. If she was unavailable or not accepting new clients, the appointment should never have been booked under her name. This experience was unprofessional, disappointing, and a complete waste of our time. We waited months because we believed we had secured an appointment with the groomer we specifically requested. Better communication and coordination between Petco and its groomers would prevent customers from experiencing this kind of frustration like we have.

  The prices of the hermit crabs are way more than they have ever been. I immediately walked out. And will go somewhere else … they used to be affordable.

  PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. I visited today and found the reptile/amphibian area in terrible condition. The reptile carpet was frayed (dangerous because it can snag claws and holds bacteria) and it was covered with at least a week’s worth of waste. While it’s normal for animals to make messes, reptiles don’t use the bathroom daily, so this clearly hadn’t been cleaned in far too long. In the small animals section, I heard scratching from a box with holes on a table near the hamsters. When I opened it, there was a mouse forgotten there for an unknown period. I waited a few minutes to see if anyone came for it, nothing. I approached a staff member in the section and he said he had no idea it was there. I know this will get a generic apology (“Sorry for your experience…”) but that’s not enough. Be better. Take steps to improve sanitation, train staff, and ensure the welfare of all animals. This level of neglect should never be allowed. If you want to go somewhere local/small business that has well-knowledgeable staff and treats animals with respect, go to Pet Goods. I go to the Paramus location, I can't recommend them enough.

  I can't find anything for my pets I was just on the website and it didn't show anything worth going to the store. The clearance is Christmas cookies. They should be stale by now and they're not really cheap, definitely not worth taking a trip last time the help was not friendly
