I am still blown away by the unprofessionalism I experienced in trying to establish care for my pet, who is older and is in need of treatment. I have recently moved and was looking for pet care nearby, I came across Banfield in Paramus and booked an appointment online. A few days later I received a call from Banfield stating that the online system should not have accepted my appointment as they did not actually have the availability, we rescheduled over the phone for 2 weeks later. A few days before my rescheduled appointment I received email confirmation, a day after the confirmation I receive a call canceling again. The individual I spoke with opened the conversation with "Do you believe you have an appointment with us this weekend?" (Interesting phrasing). I said yes, and was informed that they did not have availability, that the appointment should not exist, due to online issues. I explained that this appointment was made over the phone and that I even received email confirmation, to which she replied " are you sure it's our location?!" (You called me!) I read the address to her, her response was "well that's weird". I explained this was their second cancelation, at no point did she apologize. I explained I wanted my pet seen soon due to certain health concerns I have, although my pet has normal behavior. When I voiced my concerns she proceeded to tell me all of this horrible things that could be wrong and that my pet is simply hiding the pain. I have no idea if this individual was a vet, I don't believe she is, and in any event she had no right to try to give any sort of diagnosis. In the end, I found another clinic who could see us sooner, and canceled with Banfield. I have since come to understand that my pet is now in far better hands.

No wonder why this location has the lowest rating out of all nearby Banfield. I was suppose to be a new client. I get call 8:30 in the morning, just 5 hours before my appointment The nasty receptionist calls me and say doctor is not available on my booking time and I need to come in at 10am to have my puppy check out. No formal apology was given so this is my rating to you Banfield of Paramus.

Although the vets are good for regular exams they were not as helpful in an emergency situation. I was disappointed

Understaffed. Long wait times. Be careful with their wellness plans. It is nearly impossible to change after you leave their offices. My dog was signed up for the wellness plan that included a dental cleaning by their staff IN ERROR and I was not able to change it within the 24hr policy. Duplicitous business practices. Getting an appt is difficult then you're told your dog needs a "booster" which will now cost extra money. Go somewhere else. Private Equity has ruined Banfield Pet Hospitals.

I am writing to formally express my frustration and disappointment regarding the unacceptable level of disorganization at your Paramus, NJ location.
My dog, Lola, had an appointment scheduled for 5-04-26, after they cancel my first appoienment 4-19-26 I have to wait 1 month after they re-schedule my appoienment which was not only confirmed once, but twice. Despite this, when I called ahead to inform your office that I would be running slightly late, your receptionist was unable to locate the appointment in your system. This was even after I provided proof of confirmation, including the message that had been sent to me.
This situation is extremely unprofessional and inconvenient. I made the effort to leave work early specifically to ensure Lola would be seen on time, only to be met with confusion and lack of accountability on your end. This reflects poorly on your organization and raises serious concerns about your internal processes and communication.
As a pet owner, I expect reliability, especially when it comes to my pet’s health and scheduled care. This experience has caused unnecessary stress and wasted my time.
I expect an explanation for how this occurred and what corrective measures will be taken to ensure this does not happen again—not only for me, but for other clients as well. worse experience everrr. I had sent an email with my concern with no respond back, very unprofessional.
Best Regards,
Jackie Lieb

We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
