What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).

How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?

You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

What kind of appointment do I have?

In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup. Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.

Deworming

Banfield Pet Hospital® offers Deworming. Deworming is the administration of medication to eliminate internal parasites (such as roundworms, tapeworms, and hookworms) from an animal's body.

Gastrointestinal illness diagnosis and treatment

Gastrointestinal illness treatment at Banfield Pet Hospital® starts with identifying the underlying cause – which can range from dietary issues to infections – and then providing appropriate therapy such as diet changes, fluid therapy, or medication.

EDIT - THIS VET NEARLY KILLED MY DOG. THEY ENTERED HIS WEIGHT IN KG INSTEAD OF LBS AND PRESCRIBED THE WRONG DOSE OF TRAZADONE, SO A 16 lb DOG GOT THE DOSE FOR A 36 LB DOG. GO ELSEWHERE. Avoid this vet at all costs if you care about your pet. While the actual people who work here are great, the corporate policies here are crushing them by over working then and not providing time or sufficient staffing to meet pets needs. Be prepared to wait a half hour on hold any time you call, be given incorrect information, no instructions about medication, incomplete doses of medication because they aren't stocked right, and they won't call you back when they say they will because they're just squeezing in as many appointments as they can. Google policy doesn't allow links in reviews, so look up "worse on purpose" if you want to learn more. Edit because I can't respond publicly to their "response" here. Banfield doesn't care about anything other than profit. That much is clear from the way they treat their staff, the way they treat their clients and the easy they treat our pets. Any insinuation that Banfield actually cares is nothing more that corporate propaganda. If you're reading this (yes, you), please consider just how angry someone has to be to take the time to not only write this rather long review, but then to come back and respond to their response. Should tell you something. If I've saved you from going to this vet the time was worth it.

Overpriced & long wait. I had to wait around 2-3 hours for a follow up for my dog's appointment. At the 2 hour mark, I had asked if I can leave and reschedule the appointment. I was waiting at the front desk for so long that they asked if I just got there. Then kept reiterating "they will be with you shortly" and told me to wait in the room. In addition to the monthly "wellness plan", we still have to pay out of pocket costs for each visit. Overall, it was a terrible experience. I do not trust to "drop off" my dogs at banfield. I would not recommend Banfield. If they were this negligent with me waiting with my dog, what more when I'm not watching?

This is the absolute worst Banfield location I have ever been to. I dont have any complaints for any other location. The front desk staff is rude and clueless. You call and get placed on hold for 45 mins only for them to hang up on you... call back and placed on hold again before u can even say anything. Took my dog to have his anal glands expressed, took him home and he wouldnt sit down for almost 2 weeks and tail was bent. Given the wrong medication to take home! Like how does that even happen?? Had to go back for them to correct it. Thank God I caught it! Doctors and assistants seem less than interested in helping and talking with you. Everything is rushed. They wanted to take my dog to the back for his exam and when I asked for the doctor to come to the room, they caught an attitude. Dont take you family pet here! Go to the Edison location instead. They are super professional and Dr. MOHAMMED is the absolute best!

This is the most unprofessional location, the staff, including the doctor very rude not flexible very unprofessional. Never ever call when you need help. Wish I h Have negative rating. For this location. I am member of Banfield since 2004 wast experience at this location so many time I complains to the practice manager for this location, but the result came as of today zero. Worst staff worst doctor at this location
