Dr. Hoey is wonderful. The whole staff, at desk and vet tech, is great. Thanks.

Herb Leary/ Jessie Viscarra and staff are unprofessional. After disengaging with the office - it has come to our attention Herb is now calling ER vets asking for unauthorized medical records without my consent. Jessie has falsified appointment medical records. Please do not go here. It will cost you your pet.

I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience at Arlington Dog & Cat Hospital today and unfortunately cannot recommend them.
I scheduled an appointment for my dog’s vaccinations at 11:30 AM. I was taken into an exam room but then left waiting for a full 30 minutes with no one checking on us or providing any update. I finally had to leave the room myself and ask the front desk if the doctor was coming.
The front desk staff member was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of apologizing for the wait, she immediately became defensive and insisted my appointment was at 11:40, not 11:30. I clearly remember scheduling it for 11:30 — they initially offered an 11:00 slot and I specifically requested 11:30. Even if it had been 11:40, the doctor was still 20+ minutes late with no communication. When I pointed this out, she argued back, saying they “don’t do 20-minute appointments” and even told me she had to wait 30 minutes at her own doctor’s appointment yesterday, as if that was somehow relevant or comforting.
I explained I was there on my lunch break and needed to return to work, but my time was completely wasted. When the doctor finally arrived, neither the doctor nor the front desk offered any apology or acknowledgment of the poor service.
On top of the long, uncommunicated wait and rude staff, I was charged nearly $500 for just four vaccines. What surprised me most was that they took my dog away from me into a back room to administer the shots instead of doing them in the exam room right in front of me. This felt very strange and left me uncomfortable. I have no way of knowing for sure that the vaccinations were actually given.
Overall, the combination of long unexplained waits, defensive and rude front desk staff, lack of basic professionalism/apology, high cost, and the unusual handling of my dog made this a terrible experience. I will not be returning and would caution others to consider going elsewhere for their pets care.

Terrible doctors that will examine your cat for 30 sec, and miss majoy problems. Terrible business, unprofressional, cannot trust.
I took my kitten to Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital for her first two checkups and vaccinations. I paid around $90-$100 in baseline exam fees for each visit, seeing a different doctor each time. Astonishingly, both doctors completely failed to detect an obvious umbilical hernia. This basic medical issue wasn't discovered until a recent visit to Vetco in Union, where their vet caught it immediately.
I had two extensive phone calls with Arlington to request a refund for the inadequate examinations. The business manager flat-out refused to issue a refund and failed to provide any valid explanation for their doctors' oversight. If a veterinary clinic cannot catch a standard, obvious issue during a paid baseline exam, they are not doing their jobs. Save your money and take your pets to a practice that actually pays attention.
