We are accepting new patients now.
You'd think that anyone who works at an animal hospital in a pet store would be competent and compassionate but those are the last words I would use to describe the employees of Banfield Pet Hospital in Manchester.
Don't be fooled by the 6pm close time "confirmed by the business 11 weeks ago" nor by the fact their online scheduling system allows you to schedule appointments at 5:30. This location closes at 5. They are aware of the discrepancy but do nothing to fix it. A charitable person might call this false advertising, but after leaving work early to put my poor terminally ill cat in her carrier and take her on the stressful drive to this location only to be turned away at the door, I don't feel very charitable and will call it what it is: a blatant lie.
The staff are aware of the issue, yet make no effort to fix it, and don't even notify the people who use their own system to book appointments that those times aren't actually available. And when you show up at the scheduled time, and the nurses and doctors are all standing around in back chit chatting with each other, they will not be bothered to honor the appointment, even with a sick animal right in front of them.
"Understaffed" might excuse this kind of thing at a Taco Bell, but for a hospital where lives and well-beings are at stake this type of thing is totally disgraceful. I'd sooner recommend the guy who treated Old Yeller than the Banfield Pet "Hospital" in Manchester, NH.

Dr. Tobias is the best vet I have ever taken any animal to. She is absolutely amazing! I’m very sad that she will no longer be our cats vet, we will be moving to Merrimack because the person who schedules/manages the schedule does a very poor job. The last two scheduled visits were rescheduled without a valid reason. The first reschedule was because we made the appointment online (only because they never answer their phones), and the second was in person for a 15 minute appointment for a booster. I was told that I would have to either come in several hours earlier or drop off my 13 week old kitten to spend all day there. They also refuse to schedule anything past 3 months in advanced. I called over to the Merrimack location and I was able to schedule an appointment for 6 months from now, so I’m not sure why Manchester can’t. We will truly miss Dr. Tobias, but we need to have reliable appointments.

Made an appointment, got called less than 24 hours to say now they can only take drop off appointments. Have a Great Dane so there carts aren't large enough and the vet its 45 minutes away from my house. Doesn't everyone want to waste 3 hours of their day driving back and forth to the Vet while your animals sits in a crate too small for them in an unfamiliar environment. I really don't know how these places stay open.

I normally go to the Concord location, but my cat needed to be seen quickly so I decided to make an appointment here. The first time I made an appointment, I arrived 10 minutes early just for them to tell me the online booking times are incorrect and that my cat cannot be seen. Nobody reached out to me regarding the fact that my appointment had to be rescheduled. I spoke with someone at the desk, and was told that I could bring my cat the following morning at 10am. I arrived for my appointment time and was left waiting until 10:30 for them to check my pet in. After checking in, I was told that this was a drop off appointment and that my pet should be seen shortly. 6 hours later, I heard nothing. I called Banfield and was told my pet hadn’t been seen yet. At 5:00, I showed up to check on my cat and she STILL wasn’t seen. Because the doctor was told I showed up unexpectedly, they decided to rush around and “check up” on my cat. After 7 hours of waiting they wanted to charge me an additional fee because my cat USED THE BATHROOM. My cat was looked at a total of 10 minutes and was left there for 7 hours due to lack of communication, unprofessional, and unproductive behavior. Never again.
Frequently Asked Questions About Banfield Pet Hospital
Does Banfield provide emergency care services?
No, but you can call us during hospital hours for urgent care advice. Depending on the situation, we can help provide a referral for urgent care, specialty providers, or to an emergency hospital. During non-hospital hours, please contact your local emergency hospital.
Can I get veterinary care online?
To help pets and their people stay healthy, Banfield clients who have Optimum Wellness Plans® can get remote general pet care advice and triage support directly from a veterinarian 24/7 through Vet Chat™ on the Banfield app.
What preventive pet health care services does Banfield offer?
We believe that preventive care is the most effective way to keep your pet healthy throughout all stages of life. Our pet hospitals offer many preventive care treatments, including:
• Vaccinations
• Dental Care
• Parasite Control

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
