  What a wonderful experience! Ma picks your horses for you and she chose Big Ben for my husband which was a no brainer. I was given Montana to borrow and I fell in love with her. My son's girlfriend rode Abbey which she said was very calm and slow which would be great for a first time riders. My son got Jim and he was a little sassy but still felt safe, just stubborn. We had a group of 11 with just a couple inexperienced riders so they took us all out together, which isn't typical. The horses are clearly used to the path, they stay in line and need very little direction. I probably stopped Montana too much just because I was warned she's a butt biter. 🤣 I wish my 70 year old mom would have chosen to go with us because this ride felt so safe. I was placed in between guides Anthony and Olivia. Olivia's horse is stunningly beautiful! Anthony seemed to really love his job! I also loved the family aspect of the trail guides. It's clear to see Olivia knows horses inside and out. We did the 2 hour ride and rode the first portion in the river and the second portion in the mountain. Just beautiful, it was my favorite horse riding experience I've ever done. Kelly welcomed us and did our demo. She most definitely knows her stuff. We loved her. Then after our ride we got to talkin to Pa about the storms and his love for his wife and Jesus shone so bright that every one of us was brought to tears. These are good people who love a simple life without a need for credit cards and online booking. You're in the hollers and everything about this experience felt genuine. They love Jesus and horses and each other. 10/10 would do this again and again. I truly hope our travels lead us close enough again to re-visit!

  The highlight of our vacation was spending time riding horses in the creek on this beautiful property. The guides were wonderful and the horses are well trained and seem to really enjoy what they do. Would highly recommend this family business!

  We had such a wonderful experience at Riverside Riding Stables during our first trip to Lake Lure. From start to finish, everything felt peaceful, welcoming, and very well organized. The staff was incredibly friendly, informative, and made us feel comfortable the entire time. One thing that truly stood out to me was how much care and respect they have for both the horses and the experience itself. The owners are Christians and began the ride with a prayer asking God for a safe and enjoyable trip, which made the whole experience feel even more special and meaningful. You can tell the horses are very well cared for and beautifully trained. The trail itself was absolutely stunning, we got to ride through sandy and rocky river areas, along with gorgeous wooded and mountain trails. The scenery was peaceful and breathtaking the entire ride. This experience honestly made me want to start taking horseback riding lessons once I get back home to Florida. I would absolutely recommend Riverside Riding Stables to anyone visiting the Lake Lure area. Thank you again for such a memorable experience!

  Do the 2 hr river ride! Just an amazing experience from beginning to end. Beautiful people, animals, energy, and environment. I could not have asked for more. Thank you so much. If I ever have the chance to return I certainly will.

  An unforgettable first ride for my daughter! I took my daughter to Riverside Riding Stables for her very first horse riding experience, and it was truly wonderful from start to finish. Our guide, Jessie, was absolutely amazing. She patiently showed us the proper way to ride, which instantly made my daughter feel comfortable and confident - even on her first time in the saddle. Jessie’s friendly, encouraging personality made the entire trip enjoyable for both of us. She also shared fascinating natural history about horses and the local wildlife along the way, turning the ride into an educational adventure as well as a fun one. I can’t recommend Riverside Riding Stables highly enough. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning!
