This Banfield location has been an extremely frustrating and, frankly, unacceptable experience. I pay a significant amount for the monthly wellness plan, yet whenever I actually need to make an appointment, there is seemingly no availability at any of their locations. Even worse, when an appointment does appear to be available and I book it, I cannot even rely on that appointment being honored. Today, I drove 40 minutes to the Matthews location with my sick kitten because I had an appointment booked. When I arrived, I was told that there was an issue/glitch with their system and, because of that, they could not examine my kitten or provide the care I had specifically driven there for. How is this acceptable? I paid for a service, spent 40 minutes driving with an ill animal, arrived for a confirmed appointment, and was essentially told that their app/system wasn’t working and there was nothing they could do. This is not just an inconvenience. When you have a sick pet, you need to be able to trust that a veterinary appointment you booked will actually be available when you arrive. I am extremely disappointed with Banfield and seriously questioning the value of continuing to pay for a monthly plan when I cannot reliably access veterinary care when my pet needs it. A veterinary service should be reliable, especially when someone’s pet is sick.

I have been coming here for the last 15 years and had pet insurance at one point which I decided to not re-new. Not sure why I continued to have my pet cared for here and give my business for this long when I never felt like a valued client. Through out the years it would be horrible attitude from the receptionist or inconsistency. Today, as I wait in the waiting room you can hear nurses on the other side of the door speaking negatively about another client dropping F bombs and cursing up a storm. Not sure who manages Banfield and to why a behavior like that is not coached while back there. The lack of professionalism is beyond me. I can see why there is continuous turn over rate; an entry level gateway for individuals to get in this field which leads to immaturity, low quality of good service and poor customer experience. I can honestly say, this will be my last final day coming here and the need to move on to a more reputable establishment. No one is ever personable here and I’m only treated as a transaction. Veterinarians here are always offering the same treatment with no resolved issues, very frustrating. Do yourself and pet a favor, DO NOT COME HERE

Typical corporate veterinary chain experience: rushed, disorganized, and uncaring. Appointment for our cat turned into waiting 30+ minutes in the operatory while staff forgot about it completely. Later told the doctor was unavailable because “he’s in surgery.” No apologies, no urgency, just excuses. This location exemplifies everything wrong with big-chain vet clinics. Wasted my time. Do not go here.
