Had to take my chihuahua there last Saturday because she ate raisins(highly toxic to dogs). They were so wonderful and fast at treating her. They had to make her throw up, but they helped my baby before any symptoms set in, thank God. I highly recommend them!!

I brought Winnie in after a couple of visits to my primary vet after a neurological incident. After testing, I had been planning to bring her to a specialist/neurologist the next day, but had misgivings about what we would find there. Would it be treatable in a girl this age? And then she began to fail more profoundly. This was a near-13-year-old girl with heart issues. As I set out on my half hour journey to Western Carolina RH, I thought, "no, it's time." As Winnie raised her head on the journey, I doubted myself. Could she recover? I arrived, and the staff and vet there were wonderful. They helped me move her from the car on a gurney, as she could no longer walk. They talked me through my options. Could I extend her life? Maybe, but it would be a gamble. Would it be quality life? Maybe? But here were the facts. An old girl with heart issues would be undergoing MRI, likely surgeries, maybe radiology. She would be undergoing anesthesia (dangerous for a girl with heart issues) again and again. This was no easily treatable virus or bacterial infection. There was no easy medicine for this. I decided to let my girl go, but I did so in a compassionate environment, feeling that I'd weighed options and come to the right decision for her. This is the hardest of decisions, and this was the right place at that very difficult time. I was 100% impressed, held, comforted by the staff and vet there. I was torn by my choice walking in, and now I feel I made the right choice for my girl. Not an easy choice, but the right choice. Thank you Western Carolina for being there and giving me the information I needed. It made all the difference.

Dr. Hower and the entire staff at WCRAH essentially provided the highest of quality care for our 7 1/2 year old Dachshund Bonnie and saved her life. I’m deeply indebted to these professionals and so pleased we have the 24/7 hospital in our neighborhood!

We were very happy with the visit we made with our precious cat. We were from out of town and had to visit due to it being a holiday and our local vet was closed. The staff here are very professional and caring. Our cat, Midnight, had to stay overnight for fluids and to get her tummy feeling better. They kept us updated along the way. They were very upfront regarding all costs of treatment and allowed us to decide the course of treatment which we were pleased with. Even though the cost of treatment is hefty, that is not Western Carolina Regional Animal Hospital's fault at all - that is an industry-wide issue. They do provide financial options for payment. Thank you WCRAH! We would come back again if the need arises!!! You are the best of this scale in our area!
