I cannot say enough wonderful things about Maggie and Off Leash K9 Training. We recently sent our black Lab puppy, Olive, for their two-week training program, and we could not be more pleased with the experience.
Maggie did an incredible job teaching Olive not only basic commands but also the structure, manners, and confidence that will benefit her for years to come. From walking politely on a leash to waiting at doors, following commands, and learning how to settle herself, the progress in just two weeks has been remarkable.
What impressed me most was Maggie's attention to detail and her commitment to making sure we understood how to continue Olive's training at home. The training videos, thorough instructions, and practical guidance have been invaluable. She didn't just train Olive; she gave us the tools and knowledge to reinforce everything she's learned.
It's clear that Maggie genuinely cares about the dogs she works with and takes tremendous pride in what she does. Olive came home with a wonderful foundation, and we're excited to continue building on everything Maggie taught her.
We are so grateful to Maggie and the entire Off Leash K9 team. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for professional, knowledgeable, and dedicated trainers who truly care about setting dogs and their families up for success.

WOW!! Nothing but words of sincere gratitude for OLK9 training, specifically Maggie!! Being first time puppy owners, my husband and I thought surely we would be able to train our own dog without any problems. We did our best at home, but quickly realized we weren't cut out for that! We worked with another trainer and did have some behavioral success, but still felt like we could not get a loving balance of control and freedom over our 7 month old Golden Retriever, leaving us feeling very worn out and very discouraged. Our puppy was/is as sweet as can be, but was struggling with over-excitement, major sled pulling on walks, ignoring commands, and we were unable to have people over due to feeling like we could not keep her settled in the process. When we heard of OLK9, it felt like exactly what we had been looking for. Owner Alisa took intentional time to talk with us on the phone, answering questions we had about the E-collar, the process of the 2 week board and train, and what to expect at turnover. As an anxious dog mom, I had worries about sending our dog away for two weeks, wondering if her routine would stay the same, how she would do being away from us, and things of that nature. We were paired with sweet Maggie, who was incredibly compassionate and dispelled my fears from our first meeting. Maggie took the time to listen to my specific foods/routines we had in place for our dog, assured me that I was not being "too much", and genuinely made me feel safe knowing that our girl was going to be with someone who was clearly so passionate about the work she does. Each evening, we would get video and message updates about how our dog was progressing, which was not only helpful for our hearts, but also helpful for us to get an idea of what we needed to be ready for prior to Turnover. Our dog even had a bit of an upset stomach while boarding, and Maggie was so kind to check in with me first about my comfort level about how she wanted to treat it before proceeding. At Turnover, Maggie was AWESOME at showing us the ropes, being patient as we learned and really helping us get off on the right foot towards taking our dog home. Now, even after 2 days with our girl back, I can confidently say that instead of feeling frustrated and like we are confusing our dog with multiple commands, we now have a dog who is more confident, attentive, and behaviorally sound. She still has her sweet, energetic, silly spirit, but now knows how and when to reign it in a bit! She is not irritated by the E collar, and does not yelp when we have to activate it, as she responds to it at a low level. We feel so much better, and we can tell SHE feels so much better. All stars for OLK9 and the work they do!!!

We could not recommend Maggie with Off Leash more! She did an exceptional job with our 7-month-old rescue, Bennie. He is naturally a very nervous and timid dog, and Maggie was incredibly kind, patient, and understanding with him. She gave him the time and encouragement he needed to build his confidence, and it was clear how strong of a bond and relationship they developed during his two weeks with her.
We were absolutely blown away by the amount of progress Bennie made in just two weeks! When we picked him up, we could immediately see the difference—not only in his training, but in his confidence and overall demeanor. It was obvious how much dedication and patience Maggie put into working with him.
Maggie spent two hours with us going over everything we needed to know to continue his training at home. She provided us with a detailed training plan, and the constant video updates throughout his stay allowed us to see his progress and know he was being so well cared for.
We truly feel that Maggie has set Bennie up for success and given him the tools to live his very best life. We are so grateful for the care, patience, and dedication she showed our boy. Thank you so much, Maggie, for taking such wonderful care of Bennie! We are very proud dog parents and would recommend you to everyone we know!

We elected the 2 week board and train package for our 1.5yr old Setter with Maggie due to our dog’s high prey drive and the difficulty in controlling him on walks.
Maggie met with us for a free consultation in advance of scheduling the board and train, and walked through her training philosophy and plan; this allowed us to make sure we were a good match before we committed to scheduling the board and train.
Maggie was very flexible with scheduling, accommodating our schedules. During the training process, she provided us detailed daily updates and videos so we could see the progress he was making along the way and to help prepare us to take over training, which was great! At “turnover”, she provided an in-depth, two-hour training session to ensure that we felt comfortable to continue to train our setter at home and solidify his new skills. The progress that was made in two weeks was incredible and a great jumpstart to enable us continue to work on his training at home. Another reason we chose Maggie is the availability for ongoing support if needed to ensure continued success into the future.
I would absolutely work / train with, and trust Maggie in the future! And I can’t wait to see further steps of progress to come based on the foundation Maggie provided!
Denise is amazing! I sent my pup Rello to her for a 3 week reactivity board and train and have done some private lessons with her as well. She was very communicative while he was with her, texting, sending photos, and videos everyday. I am amazed at how much Rello has improved in just a short time. She is so knowledgeable and especially during the board and train I could tell she really took the time to get to know Rello and find the best way for him to be successful. You can tell she really cares deeply about every pup in her care. I’m forever grateful to Denise for treating him so well and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog trainer!
