  ⭐☆☆☆☆ I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel other pet owners deserve to know about my experience. Within the past week, both of my cats were seen at this Banfield location. My cat, Koda, was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection and prescribed eye ointment. I followed every instruction I was given. However, I was never told that the infection was contagious or that I should keep Koda separated from my other cat, Kyro. Had I been told that, I absolutely would have done so. As a result, Kyro became sick as well. When I called the hospital, I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable. I explained that I had already paid an exam fee for Kyro the week before and was simply asking if they could help with the additional exam fee because I was never given instructions to separate my cats. Instead, I was transferred to the VP of the hospital. During the conversation, I felt repeatedly interrupted, talked down to, and treated disrespectfully. What was most upsetting was being told that it was not Banfield’s responsibility to tell me to keep my cats separated and that I should have asked whether Koda needed to be isolated from my other cat. As a pet owner, I relied on the veterinary team to provide important discharge instructions, especially regarding a contagious illness. I understand that clinics have policies and cannot waive every fee. My frustration is not just about the money—it’s about the lack of communication and the way I was treated when I raised a legitimate concern. Clients deserve compassion, respect, and clear instructions on how to care for their pets at home. I sincerely hope Banfield reviews both its discharge procedures and the way client concerns are handled so that other pet owners do not have a similar experience.
