We had some positive experiences with this banfield location mostly thanks to the amazing veterinary assistants at this location who are always caring, warm, and wonderfully helpful. But I have had too many unpleasant experiences with this specific banfield. We decided to go with banfield for the puppy care of my rescue girl in October going off of a family member in Kentucky who has had great experiences with banfield and for the affordability. The administration of her vaccinations and wellness checks tend to go well. Our girl has some skin issues that we were originally worried could be something more serious knowing some of her health background before we adopted her. The first time I brought her in the vet seemed visibly annoyed and dismissed it as being due to over bathing the puppy (she got one bath when I realized she was itchy, however the vet did not ask often she was bathed) and gave no treatment besides recommending a supplement. A month later and her skin did not improve with avoiding baths, water, and giving her the supplement and it was getting worse (constant itching and starting to lose fur). We brought her back in and saw a different vet who had the complete opposite response. She immediately wanted to do a full skin panel to identify what was causing the rashes and itching. I was worried the skin panel would be a little invasive for a young puppy and was traveling to see family soon, so I brought our girl to a different Banfield location that a family member recommended. The care at that location (Lexington, Kentucky) was amazing. They did an examination and ruled it down to possibly being a few different things, clearly communicated the whole time, kept her comfortable for the day to run a couple small tests, identified the cause by noon, and administered a treatment plan that was effective and we have not had issues with her skin since, although they have notes for what to do if we notice signs of her skin condition again. Last month I called in my pet’s flea and tick medication for pick up. The employee who answered the phone first was sarcastic and unhelpful to the point I did not know if I had called the correct number. We had to call the Banfield help number and they could not help us since it was an issue with the location filling the prescription. We called this location again and someone different answered and filled us in that they switched computer systems before working through the issues for a few minutes and put our prescription in, but we had to bring our girl in to get weighed. We got her weighed and she went up in weight for her prescription. I made the decision to order her meds through Chewy to avoid the headache I had that day. The order went through but the vet from Banfield declined her medication because they did not record her new weight. Now her prescription is wrong for Chewy and she does not have her supply of flea and tick medicine. The care has been fine for basic wellness, but we will be looking elsewhere to avoid the issues we have had with medication refills and medical treatments. This does not seem to be an issue for every banfield location, but this specific one I cannot recommend.

Please don’t take your pets to bank field cary. I was told my dog didn’t need and x day and now after 3 weeks I brought him again with pain and I was told he needs X ray. I explained that was very unprofessional. I got an “ I am sorry” very poor customer experience from the manager in charge Daniel. Also, he gave instructors to the person at check in to not talk with me and he, on the top of the things didn’t listen my concern and tried to not take any accountability for what happened talking to other things that has nothing to do with their negligence at their first diagnose. Not sure how they out a manager in charge who does not listen and blame the customer and treat them like that. Very frustrated and dissapointed. Manager Daniel. He didn’t want to give me his last name. He also said I am not giving your pet back until you don’t pay the bill as I was not about to do so. He treated me very bad and rude.
