I’ve been a faithful client of Vet Associates since they opened their doors 25 or so years ago. Prior to that we went to PetCare Plus & saw Dr Ann. When she bought into the co-op of vets, we followed her there. I’ve loved the vets & all the care they’ve provided us over the years. But since they were bought out by a corporation/company, their service has changed. First it was little things…having to order flea pills online which cost more due to shipping & other costs, then having to make appts vs walking in. Tonight was the final straw. I had an emergency. I live 25-30 min away so would’ve gotten there a little before 5 pm which is 30+ min before closing. I called to make sure they could see us on an emergent basis since you now need a appt & was told that 30 min (give or take) wouldn’t be time enough to treat the dog. I was told by the CSR on the phone to take my emergency to Bottletree Animal Hospital in Oxford. Not only is is a lot further & this is emergent but after 25+ years with a veterinary clinic, you expect they could stay a tad bit later. There was no guarantee the dog couldn’t have been treated in 30-45 min. Never mind the fact that I’ve taken emergencies there AFTER hours & paid the large extra fee for that & would’ve done it again had I been given the option. It’s sad that the care there has come to this. I truly do love the vets there but will be finding another clinic that can see us in an emergency as well as as a walk in when non-emergent.

Had to have emergency surgery on our dog, $1000 and a week later, she was worse. My girlfriend took her back and she needed some medicine but my girlfriend didn't have the money on her for the medicine, so they turned her away without the life saving medicine that should have been given to her in the first place. Ethics are missing from this veteran group. They botched her surgery failed to give the right medicine then turned her away to die over $83 after paying them over $1000. Should have been post surgery care.
