There was a time when I could wholeheartedly recommend this location--in fact, it was the only Banfield location I COULD recommend. Not anymore! Our senior dog, who has heart disease and an established cardiologist, needed a dental cleaning. He's also been a regular patient twice a year at this location since 2019, with multiple visits each year, so he's not a new patient. He's also a completely fine vet patient and we've never received any complaints from them about him before. When we called to schedule the dental, we mentioned he's been cleared to be under anesthesia by his cardiologist. Banfield staff felt it was appropriate to waste everyone's time and said that we needed to call his cardiologist for the cardiologist to then call Banfield to confirm he can be under anesthesia. Unnecessary steps, but sure--we called the cardiologist, they said they would give Banfield a call. We didn't get any follow-up from Banfield, so called the next day and they said they didn't get a call and to reach out to the cardiologist again. We called the cardiologist, and they said they left a message to confirm but no one had called back from Banfield. This continues for like a week because, for some reason, the staff at the Banfield are completely incompetent and can't make a phone call? To confirm care for a patient they're going to be paid to see? I chalk this up to their staff who answer the phone usually being inept at communicating with humans, but maybe they do occasionally have people who know how to use a phone or how to speak in one of the various languages humans are capable of using. When we finally confirm that yes, as we said initially, he's good for anesthesia, they then tell us, "He'll need to be seen by Dr. Turley for an initial exam ahead of the cleaning, she's not seen him as a patient before." I didn't think that could be correc, as he's been to the same Banfield multiple times within the last year, but I went along with it, because why would they lie to me about it when I could just sign into the account and see the records of past visits? Maybe they were hoping I wouldn't actually check, so they could squeeze some additional money out of me for an appointment he didn't need--because funnily enough, he did see Dr. Turley just over a year ago (screenshot included as a fun little receipt)! I confirmed this in the minutes before the appointment was about to start, so went on in and promptly canceled the appointment for that day and for his upcoming dental cleaning. Godspeed to anyone foolish enough to think you'll be treated like a human being at Banfield. If they treat the humans this bad, how are they treating the pets?

I spent $500 for test and my dog was misdiagnosed. I called several times within 2 weeks of visiting with concerns and was brushed off. They did not offer any medication for my dogs constant diarrhea. I finally took him to another vet and he was better within 24 hours. New vet plus 2 medications cost me $100. I will not go back to Banfield.

Sarah is quite possibly the greatest vet tech on the planet, but she recently moved on. Same with Dr. Kern and Dr Turley, who will go well above and beyond to ensure your pets cared for. Banfield Richmond Heights 👍👍
