- RMRodney MorelandOct 6, 20262.0I called today 10/7 at 8am to try to get a same day urgent appointment as our dog has been in pain near his tail and flops around and barks from pain. They weren't open on Monday 10/6 as they are short on doctors. When I called this morning, I was told they didn't have any openings till Thursday (2 days later) and that I can try one of their other locations. We have been going to the Independence location for years and have been happy with Dr Griswold but now she is only there 1 or 2 days a week as she got a job somewhere else, so now the customer service has gone down hill. If you have an urgent pet care need, why can't they squeeze you in for a same day appointment? Emergency Vet Services is expensive and this wasn't an emergency just urgency. Very disappointed in their customer service.
- BBBre BSep 29, 20261.0I work overnights and my phone is on silent. I got 4 hours of sleep to take my cat to this location because she has an eye infection. They didnt leave a voicemail, they didnt leave an email, text, nothing....and they canceled my cats appointment. Absolutely awful. Emergency appointments and no notification left for someone. Also, the person up front lied to my face and said they left a voicemail. I pulled out my voicemail right then and there. Nothing. So not only do they cancel without letting you know, they lie to your face about it too.

The wellness plan helps our family keep up to date with his care and keeps us within our currently tight budget. I have used Banfield since I was a teen for my childhood pup and now as an adult for my 10year old pit mix I adopted with my husband. I am here to stay!

No, but you can call us during hospital hours for urgent care advice. Depending on the situation, we can help provide a referral for urgent care, specialty providers, or to an emergency hospital. During non-hospital hours, please contact your local emergency hospital.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
