am extremely disappointed with my experience at Petland in Fenton. I purchased a 12-week-old Pekingese puppy for nearly $4,000. At that price, I expected a healthy puppy that had received exceptional veterinary care before being sold. Instead, within days of bringing him home, I had to take him to my veterinarian because he was lethargic and clearly not acting like a healthy puppy. My veterinarian diagnosed him with a double ear infection, a yeast infection, and a respiratory infection. It was heartbreaking to learn that a puppy this young was already suffering from multiple infections. One of my biggest concerns is the level of care these puppies are receiving before they are sold. How does a puppy with multiple active infections leave a pet store? Are they being thoroughly examined by a veterinarian? Are they being monitored daily by trained staff? If these conditions were present before I purchased him, why weren’t they identified and treated? What is even more concerning is that many respiratory illnesses in dogs can be highly contagious. I have other dogs at home, so I had to immediately isolate my new puppy and worry about exposing my other pets. No family should have to bring home a new puppy only to fear that it could spread illness to the animals they already love. When I purchased my puppy, he was housed with several other puppies. That raises additional questions for me about whether sick puppies are being identified quickly, separated when appropriate, and treated before being offered for sale. The health and welfare of every puppy in the store should be the highest priority. These puppies cannot tell anyone when they don’t feel well. They rely entirely on the people caring for them to recognize the signs of illness and ensure they receive proper veterinary attention. Customers deserve confidence that the animals they are bringing home have been given every opportunity to be healthy. For nearly $4,000, I expected a healthy puppy—not immediate veterinary visits, multiple diagnoses, and the stress of wondering whether my other pets had been exposed to a contagious illness. My puppy deserved better, and so did every other puppy in that store. I hope Petland in Fenton takes a serious look at its animal care practices, health monitoring, and veterinary oversight. My experience has left me questioning whether the welfare of these animals is truly being prioritized. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Petland in Fenton. I strongly encourage anyone purchasing a puppy there to have the puppy examined by an independent veterinarian immediately after bringing it home.

Always the same people working there which tells me they must treat their employees pretty well, employees are friendly. Selection is good. Prices are a little high, but still, everything is organized and clean.

They always have what I'm looking for each time i go in. The prices can be steep on larger items, but the food, treats, food bowls, etcetera, are reasonably priced.
