Their prices are ridiculous! And you have to be very careful because they try to talk you into tests you don't need. And they try to sell you this ridiculously priced wellness package. They are affiliated with VCA and Blue Pearl emergency vets which are both ridiculously overpriced as well. I brought my cat here because I needed a same-day appointment. I can't believe what they charged me for a uti.

This is where I'm taking my cat to get neutered. They seem very knowledgeable and friendly.

They were very kind and professional. Treated my dog really well, and had little pain after surgery.

Joey’s teeth cleaning went fine. However, that morning I explicitly and clearly said NO to the dental sealant. Dr Wang did it anyway and I was forced to pay for it! Dr. Wang knew that I had said no to the sealant. It was in my dog’s chart. He NEVER asked me if wanted to reconsider the sealant. He NEVER explained to me what the sealant was, or anything else about it. They are trying to claim I said ok to the sealant, and I did not because I wasn’t told anything about it prior to it being done. If you look back on some of the other one star ratings, it seems this Banfield has an issue with performing services and procedures that are not confirmed with the pet owner and then charging for those services, so it seems this is a common, shady practice at this particular clinic. The staff there became very unfriendly and they weren’t that friendly to begin with, but once I was upset that this procedure had been done that I said no to, they were totally unfriendly. When they brought Joey out to me…a small 10 pound dog…instead of carrying him, they brought him on a leash. He was pulling hard at the leash and scrambling frantically. He was confused….didn't know me at first when I called his name. He was terrified and totally in a panic. He was coughing and choking as he pulled against that leash. It had to have hurt after being recently intubated and having the ETT down his trachea for the procedure. He SHOULD HAVE BEEN CARRIED OUT TO ME!! The vet did take off the cost of an antibiotic injection to compensate for the cost of the procedure that was done without my permission. However…the antibiotic was $60 and the sealant procedure was $174.00. The full cost of that procedure should have been taken off my bill. I was told that once it was done, it couldn’t be removed. It wasn’t about the cost of the procedure…it is about the fact that that I said no, they did it anyway, and then FORCED me to pay for it. They did not bring my dog out to me until the bill was paid. Very shady business practice to do a procedure that the client says no to and then force them to pay for it. I’m extremely dissatisfied and upset. And even more upset about how my dog was treated when he was brought out to me…frantic and pulling so hard on that leash. Never have any of my other prior dogs been brought out to me after anesthesia in that manner….they have ALWAYS been carried out. Also, of note, nobody has called from Banfield Richfield to ask how Joey is doing…it’s now two days post anesthesia/procedure. In all my years of having dogs, I have never not had a follow up call from a vet clinic post procedure just to check on how my pet is doing. I guess I made a poor choice in choosing the Richfield Banfield for my dog’s care. But I learned my lesson. Stay away from Richfield Banfield!
