Me and my sweet pea drive from Detroit to visit Southgate Animal Hospital because the staff is so kind and the care is excellent. I have been bringing multiple pets here for years and have always been met with lots of compassion. I was sitting in the lobby yesterday and listening to Frankie interact with everyone so kindly in person and over the phone. She was calling everyones pet a sweet angel. Her positivity and warmth is radiant and infectious and I hope she knows how much of an impact she is having on the patients around her. Especially in an environment that can stir up lots of anxiety for people. I called to thank her and ended up speaking to her mom, Rita, only to find out she is radiating love and kindness in the same way, and that it runs in the family! Ernie recently saw Dr. Sapra and he was patient, attentive, did not rush at all, and took the time to explain to me what was going on and allowed me to ask lots of questions. The nurses, I did not get their names, were also so nice and gentle. If you are reading this review to see if you should make Southgate Animal Hospital your new vet, I couldn't recommend enough.

Love the doctor but every time we schedule an appointment, it takes an hour and a half to two hours to be seen. Had an appointment last week at 3:50 didn’t get seen until 4:50. Had an appointment today at 3:50 and didn’t get seen till 5:30. It shouldn’t take that long to be seen by the doctor. I get if they were backed up, but this has happened about four times. Seems like they scheduled too many animals at once.

My experience with this place was horrible I had an appointment on Monday 8/3/ 26 at 4:40pm didn't go to the back until 5:05pm they had me, my hubby and my dog who is a senior in the room for 30 minutes before I had to get somebody. I had talk to one of the workers so they can go get the Vet to let them we have been there a total of an hour just for a wellness exam. A tech finally came in and told us they was backed up smh which should have been said from the beginning.I heard the tech telling Dr.Ellie Owens we was upset about the long wait her reply with her rude self was like omg ok. She came in the room and said thank you for your patience but did not apologize for us waiting for an hour. I had to reply from my Gmail acct but I booked with my yahoo. Overall we was their for almost two hours for a wellness exam .This place deserves one star but I am aware of businesses contacting Google to get them deleted so I did two stars. I dont not recommend this place at all. I will never go back here. I did not read the reviews before going but I see they like to respond negative to people's bad experiences smh that tells you alot about a business.
