- MMMichael Mitchell6 days ago2.0I had a very disappointing experience at Banfield Pet Hospital in Northville today. I scheduled an appointment for my sick dog at 9:00 a.m. through Banfield’s scheduling system and arrived on time. Upon arrival, I was not greeted by any of the three employees at the front desk for several minutes. When someone finally acknowledged me and asked why I was there, I was told they were fully booked and that the new scheduling system should not have allowed me to make the appointment. Rather than attempting to accommodate my sick pet, offering alternatives, or helping me find availability at another Banfield location, the staff simply informed me they could not see my dog. There was no effort made to assist me in scheduling elsewhere or to provide guidance on where I could seek care. Mistakes with scheduling systems happen, but customer service and compassion should not suffer because of them. When a pet owner brings in an ill animal, they deserve empathy and assistance—not to be turned away without any meaningful help. I left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and concerned about the level of customer care provided at this location.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
