- SSSuzanne SeligmanAug 1, 20261.0I have been getting my dog groomed here for years. There’s have been 2 incidents now where my dog was injured. The 1st was 3 years ago when his cornea was scratched. My dog’s vet said he thought a stray hair got in his eye after being groomed and the groomer didn’t wash his face well enough. I thought this was a one off incident. The manager took full responsibility and paid his vet bill, so I kept going back. Well, 1 1/2 weeks ago, I had him groomed by the same groomer who has always groomed him. He seemed fine when I picked him up. I usually get a good report so I didn’t even bother to ask how he did. 5 hours later, I noticed that he had a nick/laceration on his stomach! Pics show his injury from that day. Nothing was said to me about this happening either. I get accidents happen but I should’ve been informed of this incident. How can one not disclose that they nicked my dog during grooming? I spoke with the manager 2 days later. He refunded my money for the grooming. The groomer still got to keep her tip, which I regret even giving her. A week later my dog had to go to the vet because the laceration became infected. Before his appointment, I contacted the manager at Petco, who said he would take care of his vet bill. I commend the manager for doing his due diligence and taking care of both incidents, but I am still very angry that nothing was mentioned about his injury, hence the 1 star. I will not be returning for any more grooms. I’ve cancelled my Premier membership and will be looking for a more reliable groomer.
