I rarely write reviews, but after this morning’s experience, I felt compelled to share my frustration.
I took time off work to bring my dog in for a dental cleaning, which had been scheduled six months ago during his annual checkup. I also received a text reminder last week confirming the appointment.
When I arrived this morning, I was informed that the surgeon was out and that they are only available on Tuesdays, so my dog could not be seen. The staff mentioned that I should have received a phone call notifying me of the cancellation, but after checking my call history, there were no missed calls or voicemails from the office.
The White Marsh location is about 20 minutes from my home, so this unexpected cancellation added nearly an hour to my morning. I drove 20 minutes to the appointment, then had to drive 20 minutes back home to drop my dog off, and only then could I head to work. This completely disrupted my schedule and required me to use time off for an appointment that never happened.
I understand that unexpected staffing issues can happen, but the lack of communication was extremely disappointing and caused a significant inconvenience.

My experience is that I will never ever take my two little doggies back there To Glen Burnie I think that they just are out for the money. I was told that One of my doggies needed x-rays which cost me over $240 which they couldn’t produce to give to me when I ask for them after I picked up my doggies, I don’t even believe they ever took it. How can they tell me that one of my dogs need some teeth pulled after they did x-rays and then tell me that my other doggie needed teeth pulled, and didn’t do any x-rays. My doggies go to Whitemarsh and that’s where they will continue to go and receive the best care ever. I do not recommend pet care at Glen Burnie Benfield

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
