- MLmacy lawyerAug 4, 20262.0This isn’t an issue with employees, but the chain itself. ⚠️ PETCO EXOTIC ANIMAL SAFETY ALERT ⚠️ Petco is keeping live tarantulas and Pac-Man frogs in thin, unsecured plastic containers on low shelf displays. This is both dangerous and cruel. Severe Risk of Escapes: If a cart or child accidentally knocks this display, these flimsy boxes will break open. An escaped, injured spider or frog in the store creates a real hazard for employees and customers reaching for items on bottom shelves. Extreme Animal Neglect: Pac-Man frogs need deep, damp dirt to bury themselves. Tarantulas need dark hides and stable humidity. Forcing them to sit under harsh store lights on bare plastic causes constant stress, dehydration, and slow death. Animals are not impulse items to stack on cheap cardboard shelves !!! 📢 Take Action: Stop buying live animals from big-box stores. Speak to store managers, report these displays to Petco Corporate, and support ethical breeders who put animal welfare first!

The aquatics department was sparkling & I witnessed an employee sitting with one of the conures, just giving him/her enrichment and attention. I complimented one of the employees and he was so grateful & responded with "its our passion." Kudos to your team! I know how hard it can be keeping everything as amazing how you guys keep it! ♡
