All of the stars in this review go to the vet techs, who are kind, attempt to bond with my dog even though she can be nervous, and were so patient with me and my questions.
I've visited this location twice with my dog and saw Dr. Amy Jones. She answered my questions with a sharp and dismissive tone, and would talk over me when I tried to clarify what she said. She suggested muzzles multiple times to me at my first appointment despite my questions not being related to those at all. At my second appointment we weren't able to draw blood for the heartworm test, so she told the tech she didn't need to see my dog. I thought that was odd because I still had questions about allergy medicine and my dogs ear was red. The tech had to go back to Dr. Jones to ask about the allergy medicine and when she came back to the room and was explaining the answer to me, Dr. Jones stood in the window of the room and rolled her eyes behind the techs back. She flung open the door and start speaking loudly at me without listening to my questions. She was completely rude in her presentation and seemed like she was frustrated with me since I was confused. I then told her that I would talk to someone else because this wasn't helpful for me. I left the room and stopped to make an appointment with a different Dr. and she followed me shortly after with print outs of articles. I could have found those articles on google myself, and the whole point of seeing a vet in person is to have a conversation so that I don't make incorrect assumptions. I would always rather talk to a professional, rather than be left to try and figure something out on my own.
Finally, on my banfield account online there is nothing written in the visit summaries. I am not sure if this is normal or not but I think it is odd that there wouldn't be documentation of the allergy medicine recommended to me, or the dosages.

If you are an established patient and just need a vaccination (and not a full visit/check up), you'll still pay for an entire appointment and the shot. Never in all my years of having pets has this been the case.
If you schedule an appointment online, you'll show up, but they might not be open. This has happened twice to us- we got there, and all the lights were off.
If you schedule over the phone and make an appointment, you'll show up and wait 45+ minutes to be seen (this has happened to us FOUR times in the last 6 months- we understand there are emergencies... this isn't it.
This week, we just left without ever seeing the vet. My husband said, "We're leaving; this is crazy," and they just said, "ok." No apology. No, "I'll have the vet call you." Nope, no one followed up with us. We are DONE. This place is a mess, and we have given so much grace over the last 2.5 years.

I booked routine services for my dog (vaccines, anal gland expression, and nail trimming) and took time off work to make sure everything could be completed in one visit. The appointment was disrupted by poor scheduling communication, and when we returned, the staff refused to complete the core services, claiming my dog was “too aggressive,” despite medication being provided and the fact that those procedures were the reason for the visit. The front desk communication was also rude and dismissive, and requests for basic safety options (like muzzling) were declined.
My dog is under one year old and has extensive professional training. I felt the staff did not understand or handle my dog with the patience and safety approach needed for routine care.
Frequently Asked Questions About Banfield Pet Hospital
Does Banfield provide emergency care services?
No, but you can call us during hospital hours for urgent care advice. Depending on the situation, we can help provide a referral for urgent care, specialty providers, or to an emergency hospital. During non-hospital hours, please contact your local emergency hospital.
Can I get veterinary care online?
To help pets and their people stay healthy, Banfield clients who have Optimum Wellness Plans® can get remote general pet care advice and triage support directly from a veterinarian 24/7 through Vet Chat™ on the Banfield app.
What preventive pet health care services does Banfield offer?
We believe that preventive care is the most effective way to keep your pet healthy throughout all stages of life. Our pet hospitals offer many preventive care treatments, including:
• Vaccinations
• Dental Care
• Parasite Control
• Nutritional Counseling
• Behavioral Counseling
• Comprehensive Examinations
What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
