  I’m unfortunately very disappointed with my experience at Playful Pack, especially because I used to work here and have many fond memories of the facility and the people who work there. I boarded my dog for a two-night, three-day stay. When my dad arrived to pick her up, he was told by the front desk that my dog was no longer at the facility because she had jumped the fence. He was also told that they did not know where she was and could not tell him whether anyone had gone out looking for her. When my dad called me, I immediately contacted Playful Pack for more information. I was told that my dog had jumped the fence, but I was not given a clear explanation of how she was able to get out or what had happened immediately afterward. Given the seriousness of the situation, I asked for more information and requested the security footage of the incident. It has now been over a month, and despite multiple phone calls to the facility and emails to the owner, I still have not received the footage. After several emails, I was eventually told at the beginning of the month that someone would be in contact with me shortly regarding obtaining the security footage. It is now the end of the month—almost four weeks later—and I am still waiting. What makes this especially upsetting is that my dog was in their care, and many of the staff members already knew her because of my previous employment there. I trusted this facility with my dog, and unfortunately, that trust was seriously damaged when I learned that she had gotten out of the facility and that I was not contacted directly. At this point, I am not asking for speculation or excuses. I simply want answers about what happened to my dog and access to the security footage documenting the incident. I sincerely hope this review receives enough attention that someone will finally follow up with me and provide the footage I have been requesting for over a month.

  Playful Pack, for me, is a great place to take my little BlueJay and it's convenient. I was searching for a doggie day care located close to me and found Playful Pack. Also, my cousin with his two big dogs, recently relocated to Gaithersburg, and he was taking them to Playful Pack when he went to work. He spoke highly of the staff and their evaluation process. I agree their staff is friendly (human and pet), informative, and welcoming. 🟦J has been at Playful Pack twice and, after arriving home, he naps. I also receive an emailed report card of 🟦J's behavior along with pictures of him 'in action'. If you're looking for a daycare that will keep your pup occupied and active, I recommend Playful Pack. And a thanks to my cousin for his recommendation 🙂

  One of my dogs was bitten by a larger dog, unprovoked (according to Playful Pack’s own paperwork). His ear was ripped and there was a puncture near his temple. While I would like to thank the manager for getting him to my vet (their regular vet was not open at 9 a.m.), I am dismayed at how this even happened. The attendant was filling cleaning products and the dogs were not supervised properly; why was a small-statured dog in with larger dogs? Getting the owners to respond to my emails is ineffective; I would like the nearly $2,000 spent on his recovery (which included a nasty infection). Please do not trust your dog to this business. I see that this same thing happened just days before to another family dog, on Yelp reviews. It seems the owners only want our money, and are not concerned with safety.

  Warning to dog owners considering this facility: Our dog was attacked while under their care and required emergency surgery. While the General Manager handled the emergency swiftly and brought him to the hospital, the company owners completely failed us. They refused to take responsibility, withheld information about the aggressive dog/owner, and never once followed up to see if our puppy survived or recovered. The local management is great, but the ownership is irresponsible and unconcerned with animal welfare or safety. They made sure to let us know (through the GM because clearly they aren’t capable of doing anything themselves) that our $3000.00 bill would be completely on us. I’m still very shaken up about this experience.

  Playful Pack is very knowledgable and genuine about caring for individual needs of your dog. They have great communication and service skills. My adult fur baby loves her stay and we will be back.
