BEWARE ANIMAL LOVERS. Only giving a star for the staff. There is one doctor there who shouldn’t even have a license to treat animals. I brought in my young cat for a limp and wanted to make sure it wasn’t his hip that had surgery on it a year ago. We ended up getting X-rays. The Vet that treated him told me that his leg needed to be amputated because from the X-ray, it appeared his hip was out of socket. I asked if another surgery could be done and she said no. They gave me a referral and told me I’d have the pictures from the X-ray the next day. I didn’t get those pictures next day; I got them 3 days after. Over the phone the vet told me she’d sent a referral to get my cat’s leg amputated and to get an appointment without the X rays. After this back and forth, I ended up getting a second opinion from his regular doctor. The reason we didn’t go to them first is because it’s an hour ish drive. MY CAT DID NOT NEED HIS LEG AMPUTATED and it ended up being a MINOR ISSUE.
If you have a pet, that has had major/rare surgeries and one day they start limping or not being themselves, go to your local hospital that did it to figure out what’s wrong, don’t trust this hospital.

The Glendaren location is so clean, and the staff is so professional. I love how all the Banfield staff care about your pet, and they treat them with so much love. Thank you for always taking care of Miss Tabby!!

I scheduled an appointment at the Bowie Banfield around noon today for a 4:30 PM visit because my dog has been experiencing diarrhea. A few hours later, they called to cancel my appointment, and the earliest they could offer to see him was Monday. It’s incredibly frustrating to have a same-day appointment canceled when your pet is sick and needs to be seen. I understand that unexpected issues can come up, but I expected better planning and a greater sense of urgency for a pet that wasn’t feeling well. Unfortunately, this experience has left me very disappointed with the level of service and reliability at this location.

In general, if your pet is well the care is fine. As soon as your pet becomes ill this place is terrible. I will never bring another dog to this place. Ever. My dog died 8 days after being diagnosed with lymphoma before we could even decide what to do. This wasn’t their fault. However, we were never told that his condition was this urgent and was diagnosed at the stage where this could happen. As of today, no one has called us to check on his status. The worst customer service ever and that’s if you can get through on the phone. That crap about “we love your pet as much as you do” or whatever it is they say on the phone recording is total BS.
