Grooming service associates are not big dog capable and undertrained. Staff was not able to complete any of the additional services that I purchased i.e. nail buffing. They offered no refund. The groomer told me to “play with his feet more”. The White Marsh location never had any problems. Returning to that location.
Thank you! The store itself is like many others of its kind. Pretty clean and well stocked. I adopted a cat from the local shelter there. They took my application, reviewed it and within a day or so I picked him up. One of the volunteers actually walked around with me to grab stuff for a new cat owner. Very helpful. Its been about six months and Marlin is doing very well. Appreciate the store for hosting and the shelter for saving my boy. Tha k you again.
First and last time. I have simple instructions, face, butt, paws. She hacked his face, shaved his butt so low she cut him and he was bleeding and she didnt clean one single paw pad. Not one. Manager was confused why the groomer stood there and reacted weirdly. The very understanding manager gave me a full refund for the waste of time and I wasn't letting them "fix" it. Never again!
I had a great experience here ♥️ my kids loved it as well. We ended up adopting a Guinea Pig 🐹 and the girl working with the animals is such an animal lover 💕 she’s definitely a good fit. I was considering getting a small, cheaper cage and she advocated for all Guinea Pigs saying that they need a good home (cage) where they can be comfortable and roam freely. She made suggestions without a sales pitch hassle. I just loved her attitude, I like seeing animal lovers working with animals, perfecto!
At the register, I was told that I saved $60, which was not true. I also ended up paying more for the Guinea then what was listed-maybe they should be more clear with prices or anything they’re adding on to the price, otherwise, great visit. 🥰

I took my dog in today for his very first nail trim. Unfortunately, the grooming staff did not seem very customer-service oriented and lacked the kindness I would expect from people working with pets.
They took my dog back, and within a couple of minutes, they brought him back out and told me he was too reactive for them to continue the service. I was immediately issued a refund, which I assume is their standard procedure.
As the groomer was handing him back to me, she said something along the lines of, “I might have nicked him.” In the heat of the moment, I didn’t fully process what she said or think to ask any follow-up questions.
When we got back to the car, I noticed one of his nails was bleeding. I returned to the store to speak with the groomer, but she did not seem concerned or apologetic about the situation. She offered to apply Quick Stop to the nail, but by that point, I did not want to take my dog back inside and cause him any additional stress.
I don’t understand how Petco offers grooming services if they are only willing to work with calm, easy-to-handle pets. I also question why people who appear to lack genuine love for animals are placed in positions that require them to work closely with pets.
