It took me a long time to decide to write this but if you love your pet don’t take them to banfield. We have multiple cats and they recently came down with an infection. Test results for one cat took forever to come back. For another one of our cats who had diabetes we were led to believe that his sugar levels would be okay once they gave him some glucose and we gave him some corn syrup at home. Our cat ended up having seized at home due to his glucose levels dropping so low by the time we got him to the emergency vet and they were able to somewhat get his seizures and sugar levels under control he had suffered brain damage and had to be emergency euthanized. We were also told by the emergency vet that testing they did showed he had something else going on that banfield completely missed. We lost a valued member of our family because banfield failed to express the dire nature of our cats low sugar levels and failed to do proper bloodwork that would have showed other stuff was going on. Do not take your pet to banfield.

We took our dog Ellie to Banfield Animal Hospital in Westwood for the first time after she developed a hot spot, and we couldn’t have asked for better care. The staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in, and the vet took the time to thoroughly examine Ellie and explain the treatment plan clearly. You could tell they genuinely cared about her comfort throughout the visit. As first-time clients, we felt really reassured, and we’ll definitely be bringing Ellie back here for her future care.

I came in and as they saw me they were bright and cheerful and looked extremely happy too see my dog. They explained everything I needed to know to me in a very user friendly way and the staff were all caring . It was a great experience and they really seemed to take good care of my dog.

Its a hit or miss if I have a good experience here. Sometimes the staff is friendly, but when they are busy I feel rushed. I never get a follow up call on my pets bloodwork when something is abnormal, and on one occasion I brought in my dogs stool and they misplaced it and I had to bring an additional sample. Some staff overly care and I appreciate that but not following up after bloodwork and acting as if they care even for a second about my pets health makes me wonder if I need to look elsewhere for care. I don't know why I expect anything more than them giving my pets vaccines and pitching adding a dental plan, but I do. I like to know if my pets have health issues or warming signs based on results but I end up looking up stuff and calling them in my own which isn't right. Prices increase each year but the care could be better to be honest.
