Bond Vet — Somerville brings modern, convenient vet care to the Somerville neighborhood of Boston, at Assembly Row. At Bond Vet, our mission is to strengthen the human-animal bond through better vet care. Founded by a female veterinarian, we’re a doctor-forward practice elevating the quality of vet care through improved design, technology and culture. Bond Vet is unique for offering both primary and urgent care for pets, which means our doctors can see your pet (typically same-day) for any symptoms that necessitate timely medical attention — think: a wound, limping, GI issues, persistent cough, a rash, a behavioral change or other non-life-threatening symptoms. It’s easy to make an appointment — you can walk in, book online or call ahead to book an appointment. We opened in 2019 and pioneered the veterinary urgent care space, pointing out a need for timely but not emergency care, especially when it comes to symptoms that could worsen with time. Our clinical team brings experience from both general practice and emergency medicine, enabling us to offer a comprehensive range of services, from annual wellness exams and spay/neuter to vaccines, mass removals, dental cleanings, and specialty surgery, all under one roof. We know pets and pet parents typically don’t enjoy vet visits, and our team is working to change that. A Bond Vet clinic is clean, welcoming and well-lit, with all-natural treats, sniffable spaces, toys, comfortable furniture, and hydration stations. Our caring and compassionate team is knowledgeable and thorough during the exam, providing best-in-class vet care for your dog or cat. We started Bond Vet because we believe vet care should be more convenient. To that end, our in-house tech team builds better veterinary tools (with input from our doctors) to do just that — hence our easy online booking (often same-day or next-day), electronic records and more. And in the event you can’t get to a Bond Vet clinic, we offer telehealth services, and we can even prescribe and deliver medication if our treatment plan calls for it. Because we know vet visits can feel overwhelming, we’re committed to offering our clients multiple options for treatment, next steps and diagnostic testing along with pricing, and we’ll never pressure you to spend or do more next steps than you’re comfortable doing. And after treatment, we’ll help you file pet insurance claims to help save you time and money. We started Bond Vet to modernize the vet care experience for pets and pet parents, and we hope you enjoy our approach. Bring your pet to our clinic for an exam, whether you need primary or urgent care. Bond Vet - Somerville is located at 320 Foley Street. Call, walk in or book online at bondvet.com.

We had Dr. Carol (she didn’t even introduce herself had to ask at check out to make sure if we ever go back we would explicitly ask for another vet). She examined our puppy like a grown adult dog, we usually go to another vet, but since it’s the long weekend and we are going out of town we needed her ears examined before we left as she is uncomfortable). I have been bringing her kibble with us to all our vet appointments so it becomes a happy place! However, this vet started by saying to not give her any treats, only one every 3 minutes, because she would throw them up in the car. We live 4 minutes away, and additionally she does exceptionally well in the car. I stopped and giving her treats, When she couldn’t manage her (because our puppy was just confused) she turns to me to tell me I can now give her one piece of kibble.
She just manhandled her at a fear free clinic and our puppy was afraid.
Then she examines her ears (which stink) and say her ears are too clean but smell like poop. She also said she didn’t have enough for a culture to be sent to the lab (when our older dog needed his swabbed we just took a little bit) I told her I truly think we have enough through the crevices. No culture or examination was taken. Proceeded to ask us why we thought she had an ear infection (for the fourth time) and we repeated ourselves. She then asked us if she came from a farm. And why she was wet where pee came from, to which we said, she just peed?
Seemed she didn’t understand dog anatomy?
Her tone was just extremely condescending which was a first for us! Yet claim to be a fear free clinic. Maybe this is a bad experience from a good clinic but, unless it’s an emergency, we will not be back.
She also proceeded to put her on the floor after I told her our puppy doesn’t have all her shots, and proceeded to ask which shots does she have, at that point I said for her not to worry about that because we have an actual vet that knows her schedule…
I left feeling extremely disrespected and concerned about the situation.
Ended up calling our vet, they gave us the go ahead to proceed with drops but to bring her in a bit earlier to examine her.
So that’s what we will do.

First time here and came in for skin issues on my dog. Not happy because my appointment is at 3:30. Came in at 3:27 and waited until 4:02 to be seen!! The vet came in and the appointment finished in 10 minutes!!! It didn’t take long for them to tell me my dog have 2 hotspots and 1 cyst. I declined looking into the cyst and going back to my local out of state vet because at this point, I was so annoyed and impatient iy took 30 minutes to be seen . my total came out to be ~$140. $80 something for them to clean the 2 hotspots area and $40~ for topical ointment. (1st check up visit is free btw, for new client. I came here because I live in assembly row so it was convenient, and I also liked the aesthetics . But I won’t be back because it’s overpriced and my first experience was horrible with the wait time .

Please do not go here. Their pricing is not transparent at all.
I took my dog in for vaccines, and during the first visit the vet told us he needed multiple shots and gave us the option to space them out. We came back the following week for the next vaccine and were never informed that we would be charged an additional $65 fee just for a nurse to weigh him and take his temperature — things they had literally done the week before.
So on top of paying for the vaccine itself, we were billed another $65 for a very quick visit. The vaccine also requires a booster, which means yet another $65 charge just to come back again.
They enforce these “30-minute appointments,” but the actual interaction takes only a few minutes while you spend most of the time waiting. It feels like a waste of money and the lack of upfront pricing transparency is really frustrating.
I reached out with my complaint and Laura, the clinic manager, responded saying they are “very transparent” about these fees. However, when I spoke with her directly on the phone and asked where the $65 nurse/exam fee and mandatory 30-minute appointment policy were disclosed ahead of time, she admitted that this information is not actually listed anywhere. That is exactly the issue — clients are not being clearly informed of these charges before the visit.
Please go to your local vet and do not support this business, I've never had to pay additional fees every time my dog gets a vaccine.
