If there was a way to not leave a star at all & still post a review I certainly would.
My grandson & I brought his 5 week old kitten with a bulging eye to your clinic Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the suggestion of a lady who knows your facility & we needed to do this by donations due to a recent death in the family1. I understand it was close to closing hour & she couldn't be seen, but we were told to bring her back the following morning as a walk in although your schedule was booked solid or she would definitely be seen Thursday... "take her home, she will be fine, we see this all the time", "she will have to be treated with antibiotics until she is old enough for surgery to remove the eye" & the price of the visit would run $270. The lady actually helping us with getting donations advised me to call as soon as your clinic opened Wednesday morning to get an early morning appointment Thursday so donations could be called in.
Wednesday morning, as the baby's eye was getting worse, the story changed. There were no available appointments for Thursday either & she could possibly be seen Friday, but no guarantee. I tried to reiterate this kitten is my grandson's emotional support baby helping him with the grieving process of losing his grandfather & yes, I got upset for being talked down to so... I was rudely told to take her to another vet or surrender her to a rescue since a kitten that age would die anyway from her condition.
The lady actually helping me with this & another lady who actually rescues cats suggested I call a vet in Shreveport, the rescue lady even forwarded her vet a picture of our kitten with background information before I even called. Our kitten's eye was serious enough it needed removal asap, she was most definitely old enough for surgery & the cost of the surgery would run $200/300 for the surgery & treatment. Unfortunately that hospital is booked with surgery appointments & the vet is getting ready to go on maternity leave, but if the vet they recommened could not see her they would find a way to save her life.
My grandson's baby was rushed to Minden Animal Clinic yesterday morning (Thursday, May 29), surgery was quoted for $350, her eye has been removed & she is back home with us today just as active as she has always been.
After the arrogance I faced dealing with your office I will NEVER recommend your facility, especially the overpricing... $70 for the visit alone & then $200 for antibiotics & eye drops for who knows how many months until old enough for surgery for a baby that you rudely predicted would die anyway. No thank you!
