  Got friends service at petco my last visit. Workers seem knowledgeable and we're able to answer questions and concerns i had about products i was possibly going to purchase.

  Absolutely appalling. Permanently lost a long-time, high-spending regular. I used to shop here regularly and spent a significant amount over the years. Today I walked out and left my items sitting on the counter because the employee behind the register just stood there staring at me and refused to help. No acknowledgment, no “I’ll be right with you,” nothing—just blank, deliberate inaction. The store itself is in disgusting condition. Dead betta fish are rotting in their little cups on the shelves. Empty tanks sit neglected. The entire place feels miserable and neglected. Meanwhile staff are nowhere to be found helping customers—apparently they’re content sitting in the back doing nothing while animals die on the sales floor and paying customers are ignored. This location has gone completely downhill. The combination of blatant neglect of the animals, zero customer service, and an overall filthy, depressing environment is unacceptable. I will never spend another dollar here. Whatever goodwill this store once had with me is gone for good.

  Love petco for my cats and dogs but I would highly recommend another pet shop for anything fish or reptile related. The staff seem poorly trained on the care of a fish tank, as well as the fish themselves. We had got 6 male guppies from here and the next day one of them was having serious issues swimming and what looked like it could be either swim bladder or dropsy. When taking him back the employee in the aquarium section bluntly and quite rudely said that “Oh he’s definitely going to die, yeah he’s going to die” and suggested us flushing or dropping him somewhere, we had to directly ask her to please take care of him for us. It sickens me that someone working at a pet store would suggest just pouring the fish outside, instead of anything even a little more humane.
