Shout out to Cameron who absolutely made my boys’ day today! We visit pet stores often to visit the animals and just check out what’s available/around… and this was the best visit we’ve EVER had. Cameron went above and beyond to show my boys’ different creatures, answer all sorts of questions they had, and just went above and beyond spending time celebrating nature and critters with them. I am blown away! Petco, Cameron needs a raise!!!

Every time I come here, the experience somehow gets worse than the last. Today definitely hit the last nail on the coffin. At first, I waited about 3 minutes for the cashier to finish talking to her coworker. I completely understand if it was work related, but the first comment she made to me was about my tattoo. She questioned it and how it looks, then called it cheap. All I could really do is laugh cause how are you, as an employee, going to comment about a customer, TO the customer like that. She then proceeded to lecture me on how I feel my cat, telling me to feed him wet food although I had a basket full of wet food. Again, just laughed and she laid them all out in front of me & told me to arrange them how I would feed my cat? I’ve owned him for some time, coincidentally I do know what he likes and I do, feed him different kinds of wet food each day. I hope it was just a bad day but wow the strength it took to not say something just after the tattoo comment!
Called and asked if they had a product. They confirmed they had it. Drove an hour to come pick it up and they in fact didn’t have the product. Employees are incompetent and can’t listen. Pretty upset.

WARNING TO ANYONE ABOUT PETCO:
I was persuaded by my granddaughter to walk through Petco, because she wanted to look at toys for her dog. As we were walking through the store we heard a banging noise, and we followed it to the reptile section, where we found two tortoises desperately trying to get out of the small glass enclosure they were in.
It was awful, and I went to the register and spoke to the person who looked to be in charge, to complain of what was clear abuse of the animals. She was accompanied by another person who I later learned was a visiting Manager from another Petco.
The person at the register said, “I know, I wish they didn’t send them to us. It’s terrible. They’ve been doing that for two weeks and they haven’t even tried to eat anything”.
Tortoises are expensive…$279.00 each. The only good thing that day was that when I was complaining, I asked for a discount for them, and both employees (including the one from the other store), agreed to sell them to me for the $279. They helped me save those tortoises from the torture Petco was putting them through. I admire those people!
I CALL ON PETCO TO QUIT SELLING TORTOISES NOW! Shame on you for subjecting them to such clear abuse!

Went back to this store against my better judgment to replace one single fish that didn’t make it for my son. I had all four of my children with me all under the age of 8. The woman who helped us made my son cry. She got down eye level with him and asked him if he would like to be abducted by aliens in the middle of the night and not see his family because that is how the fish felt? Also reprimanded him for TOUCHING a barrel of water in the crammed and messy aisles. My kids were quiet, respectful, they do not run the aisles, they are not screaming or picking things up. They were standing by my side listening to this lady lecture us about the fish that have been genetically modified and crammed in tanks. There are dead and deformed fish everywhere you look but we are getting lectured about how the fish might feel when we bring one home. We spent an hour in this store trying to replace a single GLO fish and getting lectures from this lady about fish feelings, touching things in the store, how to be a big boy, patience and how to carry the fish in the bag. I am the adult, I am the customer you can address me. My kids all just stood quietly nodding their heads as this woman gave us a Ted talk on fish ownership. I’ll never go back.
