Inconsistency with pricing between staff. Was quoted one number and charged another. Some of the staff is very unfriendly. The prices are astronomical. Choosing if I care about my dog by having them go to daycare or not while boarded for $23 a day?! Not impressed. Also they said they’d send updates and the pictures are either after they’ve gotten picked up, or I don’t even get updates. Won’t be going back here and don’t recommend.

Our dogs stayed at Sweet Paws from 5/22-5/31/2026. When I picked them up their beds were covered in dry urine (not a fresh accident) which is not common behavior for them. Their nails which I paid to be trimmed were still very long and they appeared to be highly stressed. The treats we sent for them were also untouched. I contacted Sweet paws the next day to get a better understanding of what happened. When speaking with their staff I was informed that my dogs nails were cut with a dull dremel and they just got a new one if I wanted to bring them back “for free” and also that they urinated their beds nightly. Being that this is highly unusual behavior I asked for more information on their bathroom schedule and was told the last opportunity they are given to use the washroom is between 530-6pm and then everyone leaves for the night and doesn’t return until 6am. They informed me they know this is a long time and are trying to get more staff to stay later which does nothing for my dogs that spent 9 nights alone for 12 hours without the opportunity to use the washroom or be cared for. This is cruel and neglectful at the very least. It is widely known that dogs should not be left alone for 12 hours physiologically and mentally, being that your business is caring for animals, you should absolutely know better and to chose to run your business this way is negligent. Update: I spoke with Terry who manages Sweet Paws along with several other facilities but typically lives out of state. I was informed this is industry standard for dogs to be left extended periods of time without the opportunity to use the washroom, and that other facilities are not likely not being truthful if they say otherwise. Terry was misinformed about my dog’s neutered status and suggested that not being neutered is the reason for their accidents (both of my dogs are neutered and have been since I adopted them). Heavy focus of the conversation was “educating” me on what the norm is for boarding facilities since my dogs have never boarded before despite having explained I have family who have a history of working in the business for many years. Terry suggested that I never board my dogs again anywhere. When I would repeat back information that was told to me I was told I was twisting their words instead of highlighting issues in the information that was being told to me. For example, I was told word for word that they don’t have staff later because in the past staff that stayed later did nothing. When I replied that is an internal management issue and should not fall on the customer or pets, I was told I was twisting her words. In the end Terry did say she would bring this concern to the owners and see how they could improve but it’s hard to believe since I was told over and over that this is the standard and I should not have expected more. What I hoped for was an honest apology and understanding that this is not okay. What I received was an apology quickly followed up by excuses and repeatedly told “this is the norm” Terry encouraged me to not beat myself up and to be grateful they are okay because some facilities lose the dogs in their care. So you can take information as their bottom line. At the end of the day, if you get your dog back that should be enough. Take note of the influx in 5 star reviews all posted in 1 day after I left my initial review

I can’t say enough good things about this place. Loretta can be a little anxious with new environments, but from the moment we walked in, the staff made her feel completely at ease. They were attentive, warm, and genuinely cared about her comfort — not just going through the motions. Every update I received while she was there gave me real peace of mind. You could tell they were paying close attention to her personality and needs, not just keeping her fed and in a kennel. She came home happy, healthy, and relaxed, which honestly says everything. If you’re on the fence about where to board your dog, look no further. These people treat your pet like family. We’ll absolutely be back.

Just got a call about my review and I addressed my concerns on the stuff in my first review. The owner doesn't handle reviews well. My concerns were not denied, but met with excuses that 12 to 13 hours no potty break and noone on-site for emergency purposes are industry standard. Instead of apology, I was argued with on what the industry standard is and who cares if an animal has a medical emergency over night...I do!! Thats a part of my family you returned like that! After that talk, im ready to find a facility that cares about my dogs basic needs. This is just a warning and the other commenter they brought up during the conversation was 💯 correct. I figured they would have called to see what they can do better, but according to them they are the gold standard and I need education on how the industry "really is".

We used to love this place and so did our dog. Unfortunately this last visit fell incredibly short. I'll start with the usual. We went to have her there for a 3 day retreat. When we called to schedule, we were told that the regular services are no longer standard and that we would pay x amount for photos, x amount for regular time out of the cage for social play, x amount for us to tell you how shes doing, x amount for add ons, x amount for individual attention. We were shocked but had trust in the facility already under the prior management. When we arrived, staff usually got her excited and pet her. This time felt like a business transaction, no pets, nothing just grabbed her to the back and when she stalled, they pulled her in physically by the leash. We went back to say bye and the facility was the exact same so no changes like owners claim. Now for what really made me write this. When we got back after a 3 to 4 day trip, we went to get her. She usually comes out and greets us. This time she couldn't get out of the door quick enough. We sent her in clean and ready with a brand new blanket so she could have a piece of home with her. When we got her back, she was covered in her own filth. Her and the blanket smelled putrid. That blanket was brand new and came back wreaking of pee, feces, and vomit. I almost threw up smelling the bag and ofcourse its so bad the blanket had to be thrown. She got home and peed as if she hasn't in days and pooped the same. After she was forced a much needed shower she slept as if she never had the chance. She is also glued to us as if we rescued her from prison. Usually she comes home refreshed with the zoomies. Reading the newer reviews and the answers from ownership is disheartening. "Want us to really care for your dog?? Pay us more and we might." Another review states that the staff leaves around early dinner time and leaves the facility unattended and unsupervised overnight until 6 am. What happens if a dog or cat has a medical emergency? The new unbundling of standard services and forcing ancillary charges is classic bad business owners being greedy instead of grabbing the market with how much better they are for a better price to attract new customers and keep current ones. This is not a post to bash the business. We love this place usually. But this last visit has us looking for new boarding.
