I’m writing this to add a little context to our experience with Waggles. Apologies for the length, but I think most pet owners would appreciate details about any place they’re considering. After his orientation/assessment day, they recommended their enrichment daycare program, and we immediately signed him up for intensive training sessions with Angel, which was wonderful (we miss her!). After the two week training sessions, he attended enrichment daycare twice a week for many months with consistently positive reports, and he loved the staff there.
After Angel left (after working with him for about 7 months), his comfort seemed to shift. There were a couple of pick-ups where he wouldn’t let a staff member put his collar on, so I’d do it instead. She didn't flag it as a major problem, and I was already planning a workaround to eliminate this issue. I didn’t get a chance to put that plan into action due to what happened next.
We needed boarding and were directed to drop him off at the main location, where he rarely goes and knows few people, which created stress for him. He barked and was reluctant to go with someone who was essentially a stranger. Ross seemed agitated and redirected us to the enrichment center, where drop-off went smoothly. Daily updates during our trip were positive, and the staff at pick-up said he'd had a great stay, but that the owner wanted me to call him. I asked if they were considering dismissing him (based on the vibe Ross gave off during drop-off), and the staff member said no, that Ross just wanted to talk about helpful routines and procedures. We were fully prepared and willing to follow any recommendations from them, including additional training, to help him adjust to the recent changes.
When I called, Ross was unavailable. The manager called that evening and without any discussion or suggestions, she coldly informed me that our dog was no longer welcome. Her reasons: he barked during pick-up (settling within a minute), and their policy requires dogs to be comfortable with all staff at both locations, regardless of whether or not they ever work with or see the people.
That policy definitely wasn't applied when they first accepted him; his discomfort with unfamiliar people was treated as workable when we began our time there investing thousands of dollars in training. Once that was behind us, the same discomfort with new people became grounds for dismissal with no warning or attempt to help. If your business is caring for dogs, that implies that there would be a genuine effort to assist them when changes in their care cause discomfort. Clearly, Waggles was not interested in that.
The following day, a staff member texted asking for updated vaccination records (apparently unaware that he'd been dismissed the day before). That internal communication gap was unprofessional, and the timing was like rubbing salt in the wound, making an already difficult and disappointing situation even worse.

It gives me no pleasure to write this, but unfortunately Waggles is a horrible company run by horrible, greedy people.
We took our dog here for training, doggy daycare two days a week and boarding when we were out of town. It cost us thousands of dollars. Our pup successfully learned to sit and stay and lay down and all the other things you expect a dog to know. He will do pretty much anything for a treat. Everything was fine for several months. The feedback we received about our admittedly rambunctious dog was routinely positive. They regularly sent pictures and videos of him playing and having fun.
Then some of the good, experienced staff left. In hindsight this should have been a big red flag for us. Apparently, most of the new and remaining staff doesn’t know how to deal with animals. Suddenly, our dog, which they trained, was not well behaved enough for them. A few days later they called to say he is no longer welcome here. No conversation. No discussion of more training, if that was their actual concern. Nothing constructive to offer at all. They didn’t even have the balls to do it in person.
Don’t waste your time! All they want is your money. They don’t give a damn about your pets!
I’ve lived in Wheeling for 10 years and just recently came across Waggles Pet Resort off Wheeling Road while looking for dog daycare/boarding for my pup. They have high reviews, but I was surprised there’s no pricing listed anywhere upfront which is concerning. After touring, the facility felt pretty small and the pricing was much higher than expected. Daycare for a single day is $55 and if you opt-in for a package, $40-$48 per day. Boarding runs $45–$60/night and that doesn’t include any day playtime, which costs extra on top of lodging. So you’re really looking at $70–$100+ per day/night. For the facility it feels overpriced.
I also found that the scheduling is inconvenient. Scheduling is rigid, booking is done via text (no online portal), and you’re assigned certain days they have open based on availability. As the customer, it’s your responsibility to keep track of how many days you purchased and used up because there is no way to track them unless you ask. Lastly, there’s no way to check in on your dog, no cameras or updates. So what does my dog do all day? My finally advice, it just does not live up to the hype for me. For the price point, I expected more transparency, affordability, flexibility, and peace of mind. If you’re looking for daycare multiple days a week, this is not the place..
We enrolled our golden retriever in the 2-week board and train program with Angel at Waggles, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Angel did an amazing job with our dog—she came home noticeably more calm, responsive, and well-behaved. We noticed real improvements the very first day we brought her home! What stood out most was how knowledgeably and clearly Angel explained everything. She made the training techniques relatable, easy to understand, and—most importantly—simple to practice consistently at home. Highly recommend Waggles and Angel!

We have nothing but great things to say about Waggles pet resort and Waggles personal dog training
We worker with the angel who's one of the best dog trainers and understanding of how people interact with their dogs that we've dealt with( weve had five dogs throughout our life and seeing how angel worked with Guinness over the three week program is simply amazing
He's an obedient well mannered dog and he's under two and it's made all the difference in the world to us of having them in our home when we have friends over or when he's in public
Don't waste your money on corrective type behavior, trainers around town run to Waggles and spend the money for the best training that you'll ever get
Thank you Angel and the entire staff @ waggles
